Short time on list, first time poster. Back me up here. When Angel was fighting the person in Buffy's house, was that a vampire? If so, how did he get in? Was he invited? E-mail me privately if you would like. Thanks! Yes, there was an element of Dionysus or Bacchus in the vicious Bacchanalia taking place in Sunnydale, especially when Spike joined it and clearly found it so pleasurable. Discord might also have been a good deity to invoke, or even Mars/Aries for the carnage. My personal choice would have been a classic trickster like the Norse Loki (as he doesn't mind killing people dying to satisfy his tricks, much like Ethan). But Janus was employed (and a bit stretched) I think to drive at the idea that everyone has two faces, including a shadow face. Buffy has a helpless face, Giles a vicious face, Willow a sexy face, and Xander a disciplined macho face (like Rimmer in Red Dwarf? And would that apply to Giles too?). >I found Ethan Raine to be a very disappointing >villain.... the man looks and carries himself like he should be >choreographing Cats or some equally banal Broadway extravaganza. But this quality made him *perfect* to come upon Buffy in the costume shop and dress her with an air of authority that she could not question. I rather liked his manner, and was disappointed only that he didn't give Ripper more of a fight in the end. >And Willow, ah, Miss Rosenberg, that midriff. sigh. How does it feel to >be owner of the most valuable piece of real estate in Sunnydale? mmm... Location, location, location... He was being held back by only two people and it didn't look like he even had his game face on. Also, how come no vamping out when he and Buffy were kissing?? Maybe he's just learning better control.
