I hope I don't royally tick anybody off, but I love this show as much as anyone else, but those of you who post and want more believability to thew show need to rethink what you are watching. If you want pure, stark realism concerning vampirism you are in the wrong place. I agree that there should be some realism and consistency to the plot, however, you're dreaming if you think that you can rationalize and use logic to define and categorize everything that occurs on a TV show about *vampires*. I mean, you are willing to believe in vampires but you are not willing to believe in anything else on the show? If you are a vampire and know that the show is mistaken in its fictional representation of vampires, please speak up. Lastly, why on earth would you want the characters to age at a normal pace. These characters are in a fiction created by writers. Please don't screw up a good thing by making executives think you don't like a show because the characters haven't aged at the same rate that you have. So, please stop trying to reason everything you see on the show, because if you want realism, watch the news. Sorry about the rant, but I'm tired of hearing people wonder whether these characters we've grown to know and love will age the same way we will. If it ain't broke don't fix it. One is that the vampires are the fantastic. The computers are realistic, operating in the here and now. We want what is real portrayed realistically. I don't think anyone hated the episode based on the conversation. It's just a minor nit-pick and the hazards of the medium. Two is the old fiction-writing saw that you're allowed to indulge yourself in one element of fantasy and the rest should be believable. You've got your vampires already. Nothing more need be made up. > vampires, please speak up. Lastly, why on earth would you want the characters > to age at a normal pace. These characters are in a fiction created by writers. I don't. They are. However, let's not lose sight of the fact that this is a TV show, involving real actors and actresses. They DO age. They can't help it. And once again it stretched credulity to see these kids take mid-terms five and six times, should the show last that long. > Please don't screw up a good thing by making executives think you don't like a > show because the characters haven't aged at the same rate that you have. So, I haven't seen any proof of that at all. > please stop trying to reason everything you see on the show, Who said we were? Ah, but it's what we do! :-) I don't know how many human hours were spent trying to rationalize the inconsistencies in FK vampirism so that everything fit together. It's part of the fun of watching a show--despite TVs best efforts not to be consistent we're here to *make* it, even if it ends up being a game of mental Twister. >So, >please stop trying to reason everything you see on the show, because if >you want >realism, watch the news. It's not realism as much as a coherent story, at least in my case. Yes, there has to be some willing suspension of disbelief, but there has to be logic as well. But the 'Sliders' fans are VERY UNHAPPY with the direction of > the show. I wouldn't want to see that happen to my precious 'Buffy! As for being a Sliders fan I can defintely agree with this comment. Not to get off the subject of Buffy or anything but when Sliders first came on (3 years and many Wednesdays ago) it was a promising, interesting, fun show. It had a cast of cool character. (With really neat names-Quinn! Wade!) The storylines were interesting and I loved the love chemistry between Wade and Quinn but now since Sliders has been renewed to Fridays followed by that more than scarier Milluemium, it has seemed to worn out of it's interest. Poor Wade has been igoned by Quinn cause of his crush on this snot and the Professor was killed off!!! Geesh!! And they do seem to have copied from things-Jurassic Park, Anaconda, etc. Please let Joss Wheldon and the writers of Buffy never run out of ideas. And if they ever DO get desespate have Mulder and Scully drop by Sunnydale for a visit. That would be just peachy. Till midnight, Jilbert:) P.S. Off subject again (I can't help myself!)
