Somehow Diane sawyer got 3000 votes in about an hour and we havent broken 6000 in hours. The scenes My edition of Partridge's Concise Dictionary Of Slang and Unconentional English says... bitch, n. Perhaps the commonest epithet for a thoroughly unpleasant, but not necessarily lewd, woman: usu. qualified, according to the speaker's social standing, as 'a real...a right...a proper bitch'. Cordelia strikes me as a very cruel, self-centered, petty, selfish, vain and rude person to say the least. I mean she displays those traits in public to others and she does it in private to people when no one else is around too. Remember in a past episode how she went after that girl in the locker room afterwards when she was trying out for Cheerleading squad? Not to mention the times she treated Willow and Xander and just about everyone else not part of her clique like dirt. In any case, you're obviously a big fan of Charisma and so am I! No argument on the point that Charisma is a fine actress and she plays the part of Cordelia well. I have to admit that Charisma plays the "mean girl" tongue-in-cheek so you really don't hate her too much. And, I think there's a chance she might help Buffy and company in a future episode now that she "owes" Buffy bigtime. She's not that far gone or unredeemable that she can't change for the better. funee ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 May 1997 23:10:33 -0500 From: Court Jester of Hell Subject: RE: BUFFY: Fwd: Bite - ------ =_NextPart_000_01BC6577.2B38FD40 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit All, I agree; those convicted of spam, chain letters and the like on this list should be expelled from it!! I just assumed that Marcie was clothed because of the scenes where we did actually see her (the flashbacks). I assume that Marcie's clothes became invisible right along with her. I like Maytree's analysis of associative-invisibilty (my phrase): anything that was associated with Marcie was invisible, from the fillings in her teeth to her earrings to her socks and shoes. But non-Marcie things, like the bat, knife and curtain, were visible. DDA ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 1997 00:29:45 -0700 From: jen@rio.com Subject: BUFFY: Fun with Freeze Frame My tape with "Angel" on it finally came (Yay hooray!), and after devouring it I got a little depressed at the thought of no new Buffy for two weeks. To distract myself, I decided to try freeze-framing through the opening credits to see if I could figure out what the text that flashes by right as the theme song starts. Once I started going through the opening, though, I decided to just continue on to the end and write down what scenes were there and which episode I thought they came from.=20 Little did I know that there are around *SEVENTY* separate shots in that opening sequence! =20 Anyway, being the stubborn person I am, I stuck it out to the end and then typed in the list of shots with my best guesses as to the episode they were clipped from. I got about half of them just off the top of my head (that is, without going so far as to rewatch episodes trying to spot opening scenes.) Anyone want to help me fill in the rest? =20 It looks like all the shots came from first season episodes, so if there are shots that don't appear to come from any of the episodes we've already seen, we can get a tiny, tiny preview of "Prophecy Girl," I bet.=20 Notes on the list: I didn't try to do the part at the very *VERY* start of the show, before the teaser, where the voice-over is explaining a little of the Slayer concept. (I may do it later, but not tonight, sorry).=20 The first set of shots in the credit sequence is a montage of drawings and pictures all blurred together very quickly. None of these shots appear to come from the show itself. I've lumped this part together as the "Slayer Montage" and didn't try to break it down shot by shot. (That way lies madness...) If anyone knows German I'd be grateful for a translation of the German words that appear.=20 The name of the episode I think the shot came from is after the shot description. If there's just a question mark, I have no idea what episode the shot's from. If there's a title with a question mark, it means I'm guessing. The symbol (~) after a shot listing means I don't think the shot can be identified because it's just too vague or lacking in clues. For example, there's a brief shot of some candles in the Master's cave. If anyone *really* wants to take a guess at which episode this particular shot of candles came from, be my guest, but I'm not even gonna try. (That way also lies madness...and...and...stabbing pain...) So, that's it. Here's the list. Enjoy!=20 - -- Maytree - ------------ "Slayer Montage"=20 Includes black and white drawing of skull, and different drawing of a wing; an eye shot in negative; a full moon; and several different pieces of text.= =20 Text includes: "Inverse German": text is typewritten German, upside down and backwards. Visible words include "ein frohes", "deinen", "gesund", and "Sohwes." Typed-over mistakes are visible on the page. (Someone=92s class essay?) "Gothic German": text is in calligraphic gothic-style text, hard to read. Text is in correct orientation. The production values on Buffy have always been really slick. The dialog witty as heck, the situations imaginative and touching one minute, and outrageous the next. This episode shows us how far Buffy's grown since the events of the movie, and yet keeps continuity within itself. So I'm not picking a nit because I dislike the show; something bothered me near the start of the show, when Willow and Xander are laughing about Cordelia's antics in the sixth grade. Almost all of Willow's laughter is out of synch with her lips and sounds like it was taped in a different location and overlaid. Talented girl, that Willow. Maybe she picked up throwing her voice from Morgan (the braindead) and Sid (the dummydead)? Anyone wanna verify this?
