What does everyone think about the number of e-mails thsi list generates a day? I usually check my mail around 5-10 times a day on weekdays so I never really get a lot of mail at one time. Although I have noticed on days when I've come back from a trip the loads of mail in my mailbox. The reason I ask is because laetely I've been posting around 5-8 e-mail a day, which I consider a lot for one user. If you people feel like you're getting too much mail, I'll start trying to post replies to different people in the same mail and only post things that I know would be worth someone taking the time to open up and read. There was one moment in that episode that I found particularly strange. Giles looks off to the side of the stage and sees Snyder eying him. Snyder is backlit, probably to make him appear particularly menacing. Giles gives him an odd look before being distracted by the task at hand. I wasn't sure if it was just a red herring or if the moment was being tucked away for future use. You must go out and see all his movies *now*! Start with "Sex, Lies, and Videotape." Go directly to "White Palace." You can stop there, or also watch "Stargate," though that plot descends into the cheesy underworld rather quickly IMHO. Lisa ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Jun 1997 03:46:19 -0500 From: David Daniel Anderson Subject: BUFFY: Pilot - differences If anyone is curious about the differences between the 2-hour pilot and the 2 1-hour re-broadcasts, here is what I have determined so far: SIGNIFICANT: The pilot had a 2 minute historical-establishment narrative, which was not shown for the re-broadcast. Instead, the standard 10-second narrative was aired. INSIGNIFICANT: The re-broadcast had a commercial break inserted right before Buffy's first talk with Willow (and Xander and Jesse). The re-broadcast had the "scenes from last-week's episode," which of course were absent from the full-length pilot. The re-broadcast had the title sequence inserted between the mausoleum scene and let's-get-busy library scene. Again, the pilot didn't have this at all. Finally, the ending credits for the re-broadcast were split up, and "The Harvest" had opening credits. Again, since the original pilot was full-length, there was only one sequence of opening credits and one sequence of ending credits. That was all I found different. The total running time of the show itself was the same for both broadcasts, so I assume that the content was identical as well. Really, I do. Such pleasent thoughts. Come on, I don't think we need to do a RHPS production to get Angel or Buffy in tight 'n tiny outfits. With a cast this uniformly attractive, we just need to write joss c/o of the show and say, "Joss, Just a suggestion: the smaller the outfits, the higher the ratings. Yours sincerely, *your name*" If enough people do this, I think we may see a drastic change in the Sunnydale dress code... Can you imagine Alyson running around in one of those slave girl outfits from ST's The Gamesters of Triskelion episode? (I hope I'm remembering that name correctly.) sigh. ALYSON (WILLOW) pantsted NICHOLAS (XANDER)? ooooh, >i've NEVER heard that one before...:) Oh, yes, the pantsted story has been making the rounds a while. In fact, about a month ago I put up Nicholas's take on the whole thing on my web page. The story as I heard it is that Sarah talked Alyson into doing it with her, but then when it came time to run up and do the deed, Sarah just stood there, and Alyson pulled down his shorts by herself. Yes, in fornt of the whole cast and crew, including dozens of extras. Alyson _claims_ that she meant to pull down his pants and leave the shorts. (A likely story.) :) Nick's reaction was the greatest part: When asked why he didn't retaliate after Alyson pulled down his shorts during filming, Nicholas said "Because if I did that to her, I'd end up in jail and out of a job, but if she does it to me..." Is that the way the magazine tells the story? Angel is way too savy, smart, deep, sensous etc. to be Rocky, although the gold Speedo has some possible merit.... I think someone mentioned earlier that it would be a good idea to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show if the discussion is confusing. It IS a great idea if you are old enough. I don't know the ages of the folks on this list but I'm pretty sure that some of the posters to The Bronz maybe shouldn't see it for a few years.
