Doesn't Angel and Buffy look thinner? And what's the deal with coming on to Xander? Yes, a thank you kiss is in order, but why the sudden change in her attitude? Unless a succubi has taken Buffy's form, and wants to suck the life out of him. Lastly, I do believe it was Willow that Buffy is walking away from in the last frame of next week's preview. That alone indicates that more than one Watcher exists at a time. I believe he was 10 when his father told him of his destiny. Also, in Puppet Show, Sid mentioned having known a Slayer in the 1930's, a Korean girl. This doesn't necessarily mean they were in Korea at the time, but with Giles being British I have the feeling that someone other than a forebear of his was Watcher to this Korean Slayer. Besides, Giles and Sid had ample opportunity to swap stories if Sid had known a relative of Giles' and Giles most likely would have had information regarding the existance of Sid if an ancestor had encountered the dummy (no offense, Sid!). But on the inside, Sarah Michelle Gellar is one tough chick. In fact, a quick glance at her résumé reveals a woman who has no fear. She regularly spends her weeks karate-chopping her way around evil creatures as Buffy, the Vampire Slayer on the hit WB television show. She's spending her summer amidst murder and mayhem, costarring in two separate horror flicks: I Know What You Did Last Summer--a new thriller from Kevin Williamson, the writer of Scream--and Scream II, Wes Craven's much anticipated sequel to this year's sleeper. And let's not forget that Gellar won a daytime Emmy for her portrayal of Kendall Hart, the daughter of TV's most devilish diva of all--Erica Kane (Susan Lucci)--on All My Children. Scary, huh? Not for this 20-year-old, who has been acting since she was five. A native New Yorker, Gellar is not one to be afraid--or to slow down. When we finally pinned her down, Gellar bravely answered your questions about a possible love affair with Angel, arm-wrestling Xena and being a role model for lesbians... > From thirdrocker: Were you nervous about > starting a television program designed after a > movie which had, by many voices, been a "flop"? > I look at the series as based loosely on the > movie. If you don't have an agent or some kind of legal representation, I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to get your idea or script on TV, or even read by Joss or any of the writers. This topic has come up a number of times with all other types of shows and the writers, producers, directors, stars, etc. will not read or even look at your submission for fear of being sued by you. I know it is unlikely that you will sue him, but they will never take that chance... and I do mean *NEVER*. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Sep 1997 19:13:57 -0400 (EDT) From: TaoOne@aol.com Subject: BUFFY: Buffy is in the lead for #1 babe!!! And I thought, of all people, that I was free from the major dregs of BWS, that I could handle it, that there wasn't anything going on inside me except for a little anxiety with respect to the season premiere but... As I was driving home from work last night, I stopped at an intersection. I lazily stared at the license plate of the car in front of me and noticed something. Part of the license plate read "WBS". What immediately came to mind? BWS. Buffy Withdrawal Syndrome. And then I realized that, hey, with the letters rearranged "WBS", that there must be some sort of conspiracy involved here. At that point I really wanted to get home and lie down. Yes, folks, "WBS" spelled out, "Warner Bros. Station". Or better yet, "Warner Bros. Syndrome". I think I need some help. }:)> Chris 2 **Keeper of Xander's Cool** **BABS Loremaster** ========================================================================= BABS Homepage: http://www.porter.ucsc.edu/~weasel/BABS/babs.htm ========================================================================= "No, no, listen, don't listen to me, listen. As soon as I saw that the Master's skeleton didn't disintegrate when Buffy staked him, I was sure he'd come back some how. The older a vampire gets, the more powerful, and the Master has been around for a LONG time, so Buffy will have her work cut out for her to get rid of him permanently. Personally, I can't buy into the `it's all a dream' scenario; Joss Whedon has proved himself far too good a writer for that stunt. If anyone has Buffy ones I would a like a FEW too. Everyday I keep taking more and more book covers of 7th Heaven. Right near the end of `Never Kill A Boy On The First Date', Giles is talking to Buffy about when he found out he was going to be a Watcher. He explains that both his father and his paternal grandmother were Watchers. Does anybody have any official statement to this? Or just an opinion.... Still, if Pike came on the show....I can just see Luke Perry, walking around the halls and looking around. I don't think so. I think that the Watcher only has to look over one slayer. After the slayer dies, the watcher returns to normal society as another slayer and watcher are called. At the risk of sounding like some kind of psycho therapist, I think it would be too emotionally distressing for the watcher to have to grow close to 4 or 5 slayers in their lifetime and know that they are going to die! I think that it would make sence for the Watcher to carry out his or HER (it's a possibility) responsibility and then return to society with no memory of their experience. Kinda like a close encounter with an alien. ------------------------------ End of buffy Digest V1 #285 *************************** To subscribe to buffy Digest, send the command: subscribe buffy-digest in the body of a message to "majordomo@xmission.com".
