Good point! In PG, just before Cordy and Willow find Mitch and the other guys dead in the A-V room, remember how Cordy's telling Willow (and herself!) that she ought to be mad at Mitch for not showing up, but she thinks it's "cute". It sounded like Cordy was getting pretty serious about Mitch -- somewhat to her surprise! > And at the end of one episode, Xander, Buffy and Willow are talking > about their collective bad taste in signifigant others'....what episode > was that from? `I Robot, You Jane'. There's never been an explanation in the show of exactly what `The Annointed One' is, but I've got a theory: Collin is a *potential* Anti-Christ! I've consulted my books to make sure, and both the words `messiah' and `christ' specify an `annointed' ruler, so the term might also be used by the leader of the Other Team, right? She was trying to alienate EVERYONE (Angel, Willow, Xander and possibly Cordelia) to protect them from what she went through (the vampire fights, her almost-death, etc.) She said herself that she didn't want to have to keep an eye on them every two seconds. So, she had all four of these people she wants to protect, and she takes the opportunity to mystify and injure Xander, hurt Willow's feelings by moving in on Willow's love interest, hurt Angel's feelings by moving away from him, and cause Cordelia to think that she's a total bitch and keep away. This will get all of them away from her (she hopes) and keep them safe, since the vampires won't be after them. There's not much you can do with prophylactic garlic except hang it about your house. Unless someone wants to develop garlic bullets or something. Joss probably couldn't think of what to do with garlic that hadn't already been done before, but felt it should be acknowledged as a part of the traditional vampire repelling armentarium. (Now just imagine if Buffy had tortured the Cordelia imposter by shoving cloves of garlic in her mouth instead of a cross...) Or perhaps if someone threw garlic salt over their shoulder? What about that heavy garlic smell that some people who eat a lot of the stuff exude? Would these be Buffy's preferred lieutenants as their fragrance would be naturally repugnant to the undead? I guess there are many possibilities; it's just that they don't seem as cool as shoving a cross in someone's mouth to burn their internal organs. Dalton there was practically a shelf devoted to copies whereas the last time I was B & N there were only 3 (they told me they had only ordered maybe 10 or less). Sounds to me like B & N isn't very pro-Buffy, but we shall convert them. yes we will. When will Halloween Rain be released? I know it's due soon, but I'm sure people would be talking about it if it were out. I think this will be acid test (Halloween Acid Rain?) of whether Buffy fiction can be a viable enterprise. I'm guessing many people picked up the Harvest because it was the closest thing to getting an actual copy of the script. Just my thinking. grandnagus wrote: >IMO, it wasn't directed at Xander only. Maybe she's nursing a secret Xander crush and didn't like to see him humiliated (or perhaps she was jealous of that little hubba dance). Let's look at the evidence: one's behavior crazes the other (innumerable Xanderisms regarding Cordelia) and the other is keenly aware of the behavior of the one (note Cordelia's chumminess with Xander at the end of Prophecy Girl and her watching him embarass himself on the dance floor with whatshername in Angel). Maybe I'm just a twisted Xander/Cordelia shipper. Yet how can I reconcile this with my strong Xander/Willow leanings? this is why Buffyphilia should be covered by my HMO; only a therapist can help me now. And of all the Buffyphilias, why isn't there a Giles/Cordelia shipper group? Is it just unfeasible? :-) Have a good day. Half this album *belongs* on `Buffy'! The new Lindsey Buckingham songs: `My Little Demon' could have been Buffy's theme last week, and `Bleed To Love Her' sounds like L.B. wrote it while watching Xander in PG! Stevie Nicks was `gothic' before they even had a name for the style, and her witchy-woman-in-the- platform-boots imagery in `Rhiannon' and `Gold Dust Woman' *still* works. Stevie's new song, `Sweet Girl', doesn't fit BtVS, but it certainly *does* seem to fit SMG. I'd have to type out all the lyrics to explain why, so you'll just have to rent the video to find out. Who'd a thunk? (Yes, I know...several of you did). The article also mentions that Ms. Carpenter "steals every scene she's in, even up against the Buffster herself"...I think this comment is WAY off base. She is very talented, but hardly a scene stealer in my opinion. Any incident that is perceived as such I feel is a result of the dialogue itself, and in Charisma's case, not the delivery, which in the premiere I found to be very stiff and wooden. Just my thoughts! The brief article has a head-shot and some spoilers, along with such nice things as "she steals every scene she's in." Apparently the folks at Warner Brothers now realize they have a hot property in CC. Sorry, I don't have a page number or anything. It's about half a page. I guess it's not as good as a cover photo and all, like smg got, but quite nice treatment for a supporting character.
