I know this may be something already covered, but I saw this and just had to post it. By Jenny Hontz HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - The WB Network will launch its fourth night of programming on Tuesday, January 20, leading off the lineup with its Monday mini-hit ``Buffy the Vampire Slayer.'' The expansion will take place in the middle of a brief quiet period before the February sweeps. Sources at the WB confirmed the move, but the network had no official comment. Moving into Buffy's old Monday 9 p.m. slot after Seventh Heaven is the slick action drama Three, about three criminals who go to work for the government to avoid prison terms. It will probably launch a week later, on Jan. 26. On Tuesday night, Buffy at 8 p.m. will face NBC's Mad About You, ABC's Soul Man, UPN's Moesha and CBS' JAG. The WB will launch its highly anticipated coming-of-age drama Dawson's Creek in the even tougher 9 p.m. slot against ABC's Home Improvement and NBC's Frasier. But the WB feels the Buffy/Dawson's combo will make for a strong, compatible lineup, with particular appeal to young women. The WB is also counter-programm ing the many comedies on other networks Tuesday night. CBS is the only other network to air dramas, and the two networks have very little audience overlap. Three is launching after the football season is over. The WB is hoping to pick up some men on a night where most other networks target women. The WB is expanding to a fourth night at a good time: although its ratings are still very low, the WB is the only network to show year-to-year growth so far this season, and its station lineup will receive a boost Jan. 16 after the Sinclair stations defect from UPN to the WB. UPN, meanwhile, is delaying its expansion to a fourth night of programming, probably until next fall. Originally, UPN planned to launch a sci-fi movie night midseason, but the new UPN regime is re-evaluating that strategy. Reuters/Variety Samantha / Xanfreek "Is there a t-shirt too? The whole xander/willow/oz/cordelia thing. xander and cordelia are adorable together as a limited thing. as comic relief. i definitely don't see any long term relationship though, unless both characters grow up. actually maybe they could change one another, but somehow that's just too pat. anyways, while i have nothing against xander and willow getting together, i don't think it would be complete paradise. though xander does jeer a lot, i don't think willow would be hurt by them. i happen to think she's made of sterner stuff. she's known him since they were both five, so she's gotten used to his sense of humor. it's just that i see her with someone as generous and unassuming as she is. like oz. okay, i'm taking a firm stand and saying right here, that I LIKE HIM. always have and always will. i think they will have a more giving and loving relationship. not too mention lots of fun. he seems to have as many thoughts as she does....i mock you with my monkey pants! jewels *jewels79@aol.com* Keeper of Willow's cheese tower (IMG)~~Keeper of Buffy's history test (N)~~ Keeper of Buffy's hunk explanation (A)~~Keeper of Xander's Betel nuts (RB)~~ Keeper of Xander's sore fist (RB) Keeper of Giles's Lost Weekend (TDA)~~patient of BAH, xander floor, rm 309~~GASPer~~"Oh, this is fun...." ~~Willow (H) "Come on people, this isn't a spectator sport." ~~Spike (SH) - - ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Nov 1997 02:29:12 -0500 (EST) From: Tanjelli@aol.com Subject: BUFFY: pretty please!!! may i have quote list 1 for wml2 sent to meeh please, for some reason i didn't get it... - - ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Nov 1997 02:35:15 -0500 (EST) From: Tanjelli@aol.com Subject: BUFFY: One-Starbuck's town again....
