While there couldn't be a male "Slayer" there are no doubt people in the buffy-verse who know about the demons and vamps. Cain hunts down Werewolves. There's a good chance that somewhere out there, there is a guy armed to the teeth with wooden stakes hunting down the nasties. Think about it....what are the chances that in a world of six billion that nobody but the slayer has ever killer a vampire. There are, like, a dozen in Sunnydale alone. Why would he have to be a fate sanctioned "slayer"? Just my humble opinion. I was just wondering if anyone thought that "BBB" was an episode originally scheduled to be filmed during season one. I know there are a lot of new subjects introduced in the last few episodes (especially Angel's new form) but hear me out: 1) During the peak of the Buffy/Xander drama (right after Invisible Girl), Xander could have made Amy (much more familiar because she was in episode #2) cast a spell on Buffy not Cordelia (easily changed in the script; Buffy denies Xander after he gives her a necklace) 2) Cut out the small Angel scene (when he pulls Xander out of the window); When Spike and Dru are talking (one scene) add a master scene. When Buffy and Giles talk about Angel they could simply add a little talk about the Master and his gang. 3) Next I think this would work really well because we see Cordelia with all her friends (Harmony who we saw in "Welcome to H-Mouth" and "Invisible Girl"). Wouldn't they have already denied Cordelia by now? I mean she's been hanging around with Buff and the gang for a long time (she seemed to join during "Some Assembly Required") - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 23:11:59 -0800 (PST) From: Sonja Marie Subject: BUFFY: Website Update - ASH's Bday, Links, Mailing Lists, ASHFC, GASP! It was a fairly interesting episode except for the glaring errors. The symbol was not Egyptian or Etruscan, much more a synthasis of 17th C. alleged demon signatures. Egyptian iconography predates Etruscan by several millenia. Much worse the name, Eyghon, since Etruscan has no /g/ sound. Just not there, nor /b/ nor /d/. A few minutes of research would have shown them this. Giving Jenny alcohol after a head injury was sheer foolishness, and dangerous, Tea with caffine was not much better. Kinda goes hand-in-hand with the theory that "What's My Line II" would have been used as the episode to get rid of Spike & Dru with (and thus wrap up that loose-end) had WB not extended their Season Two purchase to a full 22 eps (from 13) last Fall. S&D could have been left dead in the church, and the scene of their resurrection would have been cut or not filmed at all (as a planned pickup shot). The whole series might then have been wrapped up in the next couple of eps. Scary to think that they might have been planning for that contingency (if they were), or that we were even that close. BtW Buffy's birthday is confusing me - just what date is her birthday? My confusion stems from scenes in IRYJ. It screened in the US long before I joined the list so this may have been discussed already, but in the scene when Moloch brings Buffy's record up on the computer in the office it clearly shows her birthday as being 10/24/80, it says that she is a sophmore, has a GPA of 2.8, one absences and no athletics. In the next scene when her record appears on Fritz's computer, her birthdate has changed to 05-06-79 and she is said to be a senior. And in Reptile Boy, Buffy tells Tom that she is a junior. I am not familiar with US high schools (can someone email me privately re US school grades) but I do believe that something is definitely wrong here. Also, does anyone know of a nitpickers site which collects flubs or mistakes etc? Also, any Australian fans who haven't heard - Buffy's back on air here on Feb27. However, I worry that the slayer gang is getting a tight too BIG. As the cast grows everyone might get a smaller slice of screen time (or some might fall back to being background characters) Also it might start getting difficult to write scripts for all the main characters. Take Star Trek as a good example. Some characters get tons of stories whilst others are left in the background. I don't want to see this happen on Buffy TVS. Please don't take this as a stab against Oz, I like the Oz character, I am just voicing my concerns that the slayer gang is growing a tight too BIG.
