(I had just been reading Alexander's transcribed script beforehand). THe first one is when buffy&angel are talking at the bronze. after buffy and angel greet each other it is supposed to go something like this Buffy:You drink! I mean, drinks. Non-blood things. Angel: There's a lot about me you don't know. Buffy: I believe that. But instead they cut right back to ford, will, and xander. Then again later on when buffy comes down the stairs at school and sees willow & xander after shes just talked to ford i think willow was supposed to say something along the lines of , "We're sorry we kept stuff from you." and buff tells her its okay. again, that was gone. anyway, im not sure if this has been brought up before but does anyone know if there is a particular reason as to why episodes change from the original air date to the 2nd? this isnt exactly scene and not heard its pretty much was seen and then disappeared. oh well. thanks to all who can help. btw i just love this ep :) that look on xanders face after ford says "cold hands" to angel and he replies, "your not wrong" haha its priceless. enough of my ramblings, take care all Ann optimist2@worldnet.att.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Oh, right! As for the other > training...I don't know...maybe it's because they're not the Slayer? I kind of agree with the first poster, for 2 reasons: 1. They are often in the middle of it, and it is high time they learned to protect themselves. 2. Xander has now become the next best thing to the Slayer; it seems like every other ep he's saving someone, while Willow and friends twiddle their thumbs...The only saving grace to this is that he hasn't surpassed Buffy *so far*; of course that's because she's usually somewhere else or sick... I say the following from an asbestos bunker: This has rather disappointed me because it seems to be part of a trend of unconscious sexism in the show. I think Joss and Co. have done a good job of not adulterating the strength and independence of Buffy's character; but they haven't done as well with the rest of Sunnydale. This isn't something that hits you over the head, but after a while I've become rather frustrated by the fact that there isn't a *single* woman in a position of power...no police, principals, politicians; so far the only woman in a non-traditional role I can think of is one doctor. I'm not even talking about putting in "token" female figures, but the world of Sunnydale doesn't even match the world I see everyday--In college and law school, I had several prominent female professors, some female deans, in my current office, half the senior attorneys are female, the treasurer and chief financial officer of most of the funds I work on is a woman, as are many of the portfolio advisers and accountants. A while ago someone posted that he thought the show could be interpreted as being seen through the male gaze. I am inclined to agree with this. But I reiterate that this does not mean I think the show is intentionally sexist; just that it is primarily conceived, written and directed by men and as such contains a lot of unconscious assumptions and images based on the male point-of-view. The thing that really bothers me about this is that it implies that despite the fact that the writers, et al., are capable of seeing great strength and potential in female characters, but simply don't see all these women *in real life*.
