I just rewatched that part in Passion and he clearly yanks both the monitor
AND the hard drive off the desk and they both catch fire (like hat would
happen!).

I have another question. . . I asked this earlier and no one saw fit to reply
(it's okay I'm not bitter). How come the crew hasn't put two and two together?
The night after Ms. Calendar dies her computer is found trashed, her room
shows sign of a struggle, in IOHEFY Giles clearly knows she died in the school
and not at his place so why haven't they figured out that it had something to
do with what was on Jenny's computer? Usually the Scooby Gang is pretty good
at making conclusions on very little information (Reptile Boy: the bracelet
was found by the wall near the fraternity house. Oh really? Must have been
those frat guys!).

Actually, when Willow was talking to Giles, I felt for SURE she had found 
it!  She reached over and picked up *something*, saying I found 
this...and the camera didn't show it for almost 30 seconds or something, 
so I was so sure we were going to see her holding a yellow floppy disk.  
Yeah, I know, she said "I found this _in Ms. Calender's desk_" and she 
didn't seem excited or anything, but, hey...I was excited, first new 
Buffy in weeks....you can't really blame me for losing it, no?

Another scene I liked: when Giles was saying, "I firmly encourage you to 
question authority...except in this case where I am clearly right and you 
are clearly wrong" or something like that.

If I'm remembering correctly, Jenny never told anyone what she was working
on.  And the computer could have just gotten knocked off the desk during a
struggle, right?  Anyway, I don't remember the Scooby gang ever actually
seeing the destroyed computer.  We just assumed they did.  (I could be
wrong, I didn't tape that one) Perhaps Angel cleaned it up to cover his
tracks.  I think Giles knows she died at the school because that's where he
saw her last.

See I never thought of that.  At all.  I thought it was Angel she was talking about
because of Jenny.  So Joss is trying to trick me I see now.  What a man.  The one
thing that makes me think she is talking about Angel instead of herself is when she
said "No matter if he knows now that it was wrong."  But then again WOW  you really
made me think.  See joining this group was a good thing.

Also at the end I had been wondering why she said "No" to Giles "Does it matter?"
why the girl forgave him.  I would have said "Yes" but that would have been if I
was talking about Angel not myself.

Wow I didn't know Buffy still blamed herself.  But ya know what?  That is good because
a 17 year old would continue blaming herself no matter what anyone said.

Yeah I noticed the scars and I noticed how calm he was acting so I was hoping it

Yeah, but who's side are they on?  

Wild speculation, but what if the mayor is a vampire (or some other evil
creature).  The city council is given special dispensation (we won't eat
you or your family if you turn this into a vamp friendly town).  Snyder
knows Buffy is the slayer and his goal is to quietly make her go away. 
The rest of the consipiracy is involved in keeping the hellmouth quiet
so that people don't desert the town and leave the vamps hungry.

     <I laughed so hard wheh SMG came on after Buffy and did the whole teen
     <suicide thing, after we had talked about that exact concept on-list.
     
     I was laughing at that too, not because we discussed it, but because 
     it was so completely rediculous.  The episode didn't deal with teen 
     suicide, it dealt with possession and feelings of resentment.  Sure 
     there was a suicide that occured, but it wasn't really brought up much 
     or discussed so I felt it wasn't an issue they were particuarly 
     focused on.  When I saw that at the end I made the comment, "I don't 
     watch buffy for moral issues, I watch it because its pure 
     entertainment."  I would hate for them to turn in to a spokesperson 
     type show that feels the need to do this when a sore subject is 
     brought up.  My friends and I all groaned when it came on then we 
     laughed and made fun of it.  For you sensitive types out there, I'm 
     not saying teen suicide isn't an important topic or isn't relevent.  
     I'm saying there was no need to put that little announcement at the 
     end.
     
     <I was left wondering what Spike's going to be doing with Angel gone,
     <they don't seem to have anythingn to do with Spike/Dru/Angel in next
     <weeks episode?

     1.  When are they going to hire a substitute teacher?

     3.  I loved hearing Sarah call David a bitch. (I don't think thats

     4.  I thought David did a good job in the recreation scene.  Remember, 
     he was a girl.  He was acting like a girl.
     
     5  Meredith Salinger!  I love this girl.  I used to watch her movies 
     all the time when I was younger.  Its good to see she is getting work 
     again.
     
     6.  Was the school dance suspended because of the snakes?
     
     7.  My favorite moment - When Angel and Buffy stop kissing, there is a 
     moment when they are both themselves and its true and beautiful then 
     she says his name and he pushes her away.  I loved that!  I thought it 
     was perfect.
     
     8.  PSA at the end - ridiculous!

First off, I loved this episode, it set up so many plot twists and turns 
and it is going to be a wild ride for everyone involved including the 
avid Buffy fans.

Principle Synder:  We had some clue that the police and synder knew 
something was up (School Hard), but tonight we got a lot more, it seems 
that the whole town government-political machine knows that their quaint 
little city is on the hellmouth. And they brought synder in especially 
to deal with the hellmouth.  I could go off on a wild tangent and say 
the the city was behind a conspiracy to bring in the hyenas to possess 
some students (including the X-man) and then eat Principle Fluttie (but 
I think that is way off base), but the city saw it's chance and brought 
in synder.  So now we have to wait and see, if he know about buffy 
(which I belive he does and gives her a really hard time as a 
motivational tool).

Buffy and Angel:  can you spell: C-L-O-S-U-R-E,  I belive that the 
spirit possession gave buffy exactly what she needed, and it also sets 
up the forgiveness thing and the buffy/angel couple thing again, which 
some people believe will happen (I for one hope not, don't get me wrong 
I do want the old angel back, but not for a while and the buffy/angel 
couple thing should not happen again.)

Spike:  MY BOY IS BACK!!!!!!!!  And this is another nail in the coffin 
(pun intended) for me and my theory that Spike will help get Angel's 
back.

Subject: BUFFY: Overnight ratings for IOHEFY

Last night's showing of I Only Have Eyes For You got a 5.1 rating/8 share
in the overnight Nielsen ratings for households.  Overnight ratings are
based on viewing in only 39 of the largest TV markets, not the nation as a
whole.  A new episode of Dawson's Creek got a 6.0/9.  

As expected, that's a significant improvement on the numbers for last
week's repeat of Innocence, which received an overnight of 3.6/6.  But I
still view it as disappointing.  Here are the overnight numbers for the
last few first-run episodes: Killed By Death on March 3 got a 5.5/8,
Passion on February 24 had a 6.0/9 and BB&B on February 10 scored a 6.2/9.
Not only that, but IOHEFY was equaled or surpassed by *repeats* of
Halloween, Lie To Me and The Dark Age that aired back in February and early
March.

I expect that next week will be better thanks to Dawson's Creek.  I believe
that next week's DC is the big Scream/I Know What You Did Last Summer-type
episode.  If Kevin Williamson can translate his big screen success with
that stuff, there will be huge numbers for Dawson's Creek next week.
Hopefully there will be a little early tune-in spillover for Buffy.

(Note:  I just found out that as of April 1, 1998, the number of markets
used for the overnight ratings increased from 38 to 39 with the addition of
Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem NC.  That market does have a WB
affiliate so I don't think it has impacted Buffy's overnights in any
meaningful way.  Well, unless the fine people of Winston-Salem really,
really dislike Joss' insertion of the occasional anti-smoking message!)

Was it just me, or did anyone think that Willow would stumble onto 
Calendar's disk with Angel's spell on it when she was teaching the class
and spending so much time around her desk?  

Last night's episode was alright IMO.  It was great in a sense that it was
a new episode, but the actors just seemed to go through the motions.
Except for a few highlights (i.e. Snyder and Spike), it was kinda boring.

Some questions:

1)  After seeing Angel wash himself in the fountain after he and Buffy
    kissed, a question came to mind:  Do vampires sweat? do they need to
    bathe?

2)  SMG's hair didn't look right or good IMHO.  Anyone else agree?

Exactly.  So now I'm wondering exactly what Angelus has been thinking.  Why
has he done everything possible to antagonize Spike?  Angelus isn't stupid.
 He knows that Spike will be out of that wheelchair eventually.  He really
wants Spike as a major adversary?  Does he lust after Dru that much?  

Along the same lines, when did Angelus decide he hated Spike?  Judging from
the meeting between Spike and Angel in School Hard, they had been on
friendly terms back in the good old days.  After all, Angelus had been
Spike's "Yoda".

     of the moment decision) because someone on t.v. did it, thats idiotic. 
     I have very strong opinions on this.  I understand the thoughts a 
     person has when deciding whether or not to kill themselves, I don't 
     think a television show has ANYTHING to do with it.  I think the 
     little PSA's after a show are ridiculous.

The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" scripts and show 
information are closely guarded, but Juliet Landau, who 
plays Drusilla on the kick-ass series (and is the 
daughter of Martin Landau), tipped off a couple of Daily 
News columnists that the burgeoning love triangle -
Spike, Drusilla, Angel - will come to a head in the two-part season 
finale. "If I say too much, I think I'll become the dead instead of the 
undead!" said Landau, adding that "Buffy" followers will get a
chance to see what the vampires were like before they became 
blood-suckers. "We're going into the characters' back stories," 
Landau relates. "I get to go back to England in 1860, and Angel 
goes back to the 1700s in Ireland."

Okay, I normally don't engage in public speculation, but in this case I feel
the need to post something, so that if the season finale actually falls out
this way, I can point and say 'see? I called it' :)

So, here's my 2 cent guess on a possible end of the season finale.

Spike, now healed and looking to send Angel packing in a permanent way,
meets up with Buffy and makes a deal with her; something along the lines of:

Spike: "You hate me, I hate you... but we both hate Angel more. I'll give
you Angel, and if you kill him, I'll leave SunnyHell for good, and take Dru
with me."

This works out great for Spike: he wants to leave anyway, and Angel's
permanently and painfully out of the picture.

Spike arranges to set up Angel so Buffy can kill him -- the original plan
was to keep Dru completely away from this scene, but somehow she ends up
there, realizes what is about to happen, and leaps to save her Angel, so
instead of Angel going down, Dru is destroyed, while Spike and Angel watch.

[The following assumes that Angel doesn't get his soul back until next
season -- not much changes if he does.]

Angel blames Spike and Buffy for Dru's death, but Angel's not really that
attached to Dru -- he's only after her to bug Spike.

/Spike/ blames Angel and Buffy for Dru's death, and unlike Angel, this
totally unhinges him.  Spike has only one weak spot and one point of
humanity -- both of these things are his adoration of Drusilla. With her
dead, Spike enters the thrid season ready to burn down the whole city with
him in it, if it will take out Buffy and Angel -- Spike was nasty before,
but with his last spark of Humanity and his only weakness gone, he becomes
the avatar of the Prince of Darkness :)

[Meanwhile, I'll be dancing a jig, because this would ROCK :)]

Anyway, thoughts? Better ideas? I'm all ears and eyes.

I always got the impression that these were required. After any show which
deals with rape or suicide or domestic violence there is always a little PSA
at the end where the actors come on and give a little blurb and where to get
information and stuff. And i do mean ALWAYS, I just thought it was common
practice. Ridiculous maybe, but you have to remember that there are a lot of
silly people in the world who are easily influenced by what they see on
television.

I'm not so sure he knows all of it. If he knew Buffy was the slayer, why would
he continually get her in trouble? Call me crazy, but if I knew someone who
killed demons for a living and saved my ass constantly, I wouldn't be spending
time trying to get her expelled. My guess is that he believes one of two things
about her:

1)She's a demonic *thing*.
2)She's just a troublesome student in all the wrong places at the wrong times
and so he tries to get her in trouble so she might be disciplined and have a
lower fatality possibility.

Hi.
     You are right.  43 does seem kind of random.   One thing that's
interesting though dates back to WML part 2.  Willow told Giles that there are
43 churches in Sunnydale.  Hmmmmmm.  43 yet again.  Actually, then one burned
down leaving 42 (Douglas Adams fans know that's the answer to life).  Just
thought I'd attempt to intrigue you all.

Subject: BUFFY: Buffy: Overnight Ratings

For me, its harder to make sure I am in the house to watch Buffy because it is
still so light outside since the time change. I still make it in time to watch
it but some people might want to "play" a little more than watch t.v.
I'm in TX and right now the weather is so beautiful that I have to force
myself to be at home. Just my opinion.
