Probably has something to do with Catholic guilt too, of which I am well aquainted. If he felt so horrible about the people he killed, he might think that living with it would be a proper punishment. I'm kinda mad at Xander for blowing up about Angel. He blames Angel for Ms. Calendar's death, and it wasn't Angel that did it, it was the demon. I hope Buffy realizes that. If he does get his soul back, I doubt Buffy will go running into his arms, all is forgiven. Even if she did he wouldn't let her. He would probably blame himself for everything. I never liked Kendra's character much, but I am still very sad that she died. She was just a kid, like Buffy, and she never even had a life like Buffy does. No friends, no fun, just training. Angel needs to die. For the very reason that all of you say he needs to live. Its not Angel doing these things, its the demon. For this reason he must die. The demon in control of Angel is incredibly evil and cruel. He has no mercy. He kills for fun and pleasure. He loves to torment people. He does whatever he wants and hurts whoever he wants. This isn't the Angel we know and love. This is a demon. And so he must die. Because of all the things he as done. Because of all the things he will do. Because he killed Jenny. Because he'll kill again, and again, and again. Giving him back his soul would be a worse punishment for Angel than anything else you could think of. Before, the people he hurt were usually anonymous. Just faces in the crowd. Now, the people he has hurt are the people he loves. And I don't remember who said this, but they were right: Xander, or Giles, or someone should go stake Angel if Buffy can't. Now, I know this is gonna be unpopular with a lot of people, but just stop and think about this for a minute as though it were real, and not a show with characters we all care about. Personally, I like Angel. I think he's a neat guy. But I also think he needs to die. He's just too dangerous to be allowed to live. ========================================================================== "The only people who have no fear are those too stupid to know what to be afraid of." Is >Buffy really ready to risk another couple of dozen lives should the curse be > removed again? Xander, IMO, is the only rational one in the group. LilyRei hit the nail on the head. Xander has already admitted (in Passions) that he's never been a member of Angel's fanclub. Whether Xander's dating Cordy or not, (IMHO) he's still got feelings for Buffy. Staking Angel gets him gone once and for all. Xander's not rational --- he's jealous. Xander's just using Ms. Calendar as a hopeful attempt to gain allies. "Willow, Giles, Angel killed someone you cared about he deserves to die. You guys agree, right?" Xander doesn't get a vote until he can view the world without green tinted swim goggles.
