I tried, but I have too many "ties" and the two parters I look at as a whole, not as two separate parts. So, I'm separating mine into categories. I didn't hate any episodes, so I don't have a "bad" category. These are the ones I considered outstanding! I jumped on the internet the second they were over to see what other people had to say: When She Was Bad, Becoming, School Hard, Halloween, Surprise/Innocence, Passion, Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered To me, the best of the best are When She Was Bad an Becoming. Becoming was the more powerful show, but WSWB was just so darn good! When Buffy said, "Hi guys. Miss me?" I actually shouted "YES" at my tv! And that dance! From the moment Buffy steps foot into the Bronze to the moment she leaves....well, that was just an incredible sequence! I've noticed that a lot of the ones I have listed are arc shows...so obviously the arc worked for me....but I also loved some of the stand alones like BB&B and Halloween. Those were just so much fun! These were ones I considered to be great, but I waited about a minute before jumping on the internet: Lie to Me, What's My Line, I Only Have Eyes for You, Ted The rest I considered to be good, but I didn't feel the need to jump on the internet right after it was over. The only one I didn't really care for a great deal was The Dark Age. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, it just seemed too......heavy for me. My absolute favorite thing about Buffy though is the friendship between Willow and Buffy. I loved watching them plot to get the watcher's diary in Halloween and then sit in the bathroom and read it. I loved Willow's support of Buffy when they found a way to recurse Angel. I loved how they walked out of the Bronze together arm in arm like the best of friends (at the beginning of Passion). There are so many small, but bright moments between these two. Wow! First time in ages I've contributed! I'll probably be able to more now that summer's almost here and I'll have more free time. :-) Since ranking 1 - 22 would be _way_ too difficult for my tastes, here's my list rankings 1 through 4 stars, 4 **** being the highest. When She Was Bad: *** 1/2 (3 and 1/2 stars) Overall, a very good episode. Although it pained me to see Buffy acting like such a bitca to all her loved ones, Joss didn't disappoint me with this first classic episode of seson 2. Loved her hair in this episode (as opposed to the later episodes of the season. . .). Then closing with what was without a doubt the only thing The Annoying One ever contributed to the series, that great line "I hate that girl." Some Assembly Required: **1/2 (2 and 1/2 stars) Not bad. Nice filler episode. Angel's unconvincing "I saw the fire, thought you'd be here" was just weak. But it had some great lines "I'm an old fashioned girl. I was raised to believe the men dig up the corpses and the women have the babies," (or something to that effect) and Buffy's "pathetic-much?" Daryl creeped me, and I have to admit, as obvious as it may seem in retrospect, I didn't see that coming that they had reanimated Daryl, that is. School Hard ***1/2 (3 and 1/2 stars) Another good episode. Introduced two of my favorite characters, our beloved Spike and Dru! Spike, so delciously sarcastic and. . . bad. And Dru so creepy and insane (as opposed to now, where her two adjectives are slutty and insane) . I loved their relation- ship, and how they really seemed to love each other despite their demonic nature. Although the Joyce's existance in this episode annoyed me (I really don't like Joyce. . .) and I didn't quite buy her hypocritical speech at the end, I think Synder was at his best and I actually liked Shiela's character. Sarah was great in this ep, too. Inca Mummy Girl **1/2 stars (2 and 1/2 stars) Can't say I liked Ampatta, or sympathized with her. What I _did_ like about this episode was Willow in that adorable Inuit costume. And the introduction of my oh - so- sweet and wonderful, Oz. Loved him from the second I saw him. "Who is that girl?" Great line - no one but my Seth could pull it off so wonderfully. Thought Ampatta's demise was kinda weak, but oh well. Hated the way Xander "dissed" Willow in a couple of instances in this episode, but can excuse him because he was blinded by his lust (I won't say love. . .) for Ampatta. Although I _really_ didn't like her myself. Did like her costume though. . . Reptile Boy *** (3 stars) Liked it. Liked the moral lesson - it was there but wasn't really thrown at us too heavily. The end was good when Angel asked Buffy out for coffee and Buff walked away, telling Angel she'd let him know. Go Buffy, getting the upper-hand like that! :-) Reptile Boy. . . well, the costume wasn't the greatest, and certainly wasn't the most interesting villain of the season, but that wasn't really the point, I suppose. I liked Tom (I think that was his name), and how he turned out to be the worst, when he had seemed so nice at first. The Xander-in-a-bra scene - that was too much, and I don't mean that in a good way. They went overboard with his character there, and I know a lot of you liked it, but it just wasn't for me. To Be Continued. . . My analysis of season two! The only one I really didn't like was Killed By Death, like so many others, and even that had its high points (ie. the Angelus vs. Xander scenes). My faves were obviously Surpise/Innocence and Becoming. Very close in the running were "When She Was Bad," "Lie to Me," and "What's My Line" and "Passion.
