Amanda quoted someone else writing : << "[SMG] does her job--well. Period. Don't look for her to be chattin' up the caterer" >> This sounds pretty ridiculous to me. First, I'd rather someone do their job well than talk. I like to talk at work as much as anyone, but it's competence first, talking as a bonus. I wouldn't hold someone not "chattin' up the caterer" against them. Second, she's in a lot of magazines, on a couple of talk shows, and she did Saturday Night Live; that's plenty of appearances for me. Third, I'd rather see SMG in 2 movies than at a convention. I derive more enjoyment from her acting than her autograph. And on another note, The Lost Army by Christopher Golden was pretty good (1997, a novelization of Mike Mignola's Hellboy) but Golden's Of Saints and Shadows (1994, a horror novel about vampires) was terrible. Hopefully, the good reviews of Golden's BtVS book will continue; I'd like to buy it, but only if it's worth reading. Talking to the caterer, who prepares the food and is not concidered important. In other words, you wouldn't see SMG talking to a common person is what the person means. Maybe whoever wrote it was trying to imply that SMG doesn't want to be friendly with common folk, but the actual sentence means you won't see her _hitting on_ the caterer. But what about when all the new episodes start? Does anyone >know if WGN is cool be cool when it comes to this or are they gonna be >pricks like they sometimes are (see I only get WGN)? Well, with the Cubs having a shot at the wildcard spot in the playoffs, and Sammy Sosa being right up there in the running for the home run record, we can probably count on WGN to pre-empt Buffy whenever possible. They haven't had ratings like this in years for CUbs games, and the poor ratings were the reason they gave for moving tuesday games to CLTV anyway. They've already gone back on that promise anyway. - --Flagg - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Sep 1998 10:45:39 -0700 (PDT) From: Sonja Marie Subject: BUFFY: GASP!: Yahoo! This shouldn't interfere with the new season since the baseball season ends in about two weeks. The playoffs, if the Cubs make it, won't be on WGN. They'll be on Fox, NBC, or ESPN. They're only playing Dawson's early this once and it's because of the Teen or Seventeen special ont he WB.
