What can I say, I like being in the minority. Right now, everyone is thinking about what a B/G relationship would be like RIGHT NOW. But who's to say it couldn't happen after Buffy graduates and turns 18 (Btw, is some states, it wouldn't be statutory rape because the cut off age is 16. I believe, though I'm not certain since I don't live in California, that it would be illegal in CA)? I'm not necessarily looking for it to happen, but I think it would be an interesting angle. Subject: BUFFY: Different Cuts in Becoming 1 This was discussed a lot on the PB, and I thought it'd be interesting to get your input. There was a difference in the first scene of Tuesday's airing of Becoming 1, and the one aired on May 12. When I heard this, I just *had* to go check my Becoming 1 copies. (This required much rewinding, as I had both versions on the same Becoming tape.) Here's my conclusion: It's the same footage, different voiceovers. Both times were Max, although the first time sounded a lot like David. Tonight, the footage started a few seconds earlier, showing more of the rider. (It bugged me when watching that earlier that the horse was onscreen so long.) The "Galway, 1753" thing stayed up longer in May, and appeared later. I liked the first time better; the voiceover sounded better then, and the few extra seconds of footage dragged a bit. I wonder why this happened...RD (Robert David Price) said he knew nothing about it. If you have behaved badly, repent, make what amends you can, and address yourself to the task of behaving better next time. On no account brood over your wrongdoing. Rolling in the muck is not the best way of getting clean." I know he probably didn't have this situation in mind but I thought it was a quote some of you might enjoy in relation to Angel 2) I thought of my own little analogy for Angel. I think of him like a sleepwalker. There is a documented case where a sleep-walker murdered his mother-in-law (really old ep of Dateline in case you want to check out my story). In this case, it was his body, his personality, etc, but not his conscious mind that committed the crime. Same goes for Angel. 3) I don't think a Giles-Buffy relationship is disgusting because of the age difference. I think it is because I got the impression it was more of a father-daughter thing. 4) True love has a lot to do with maturity not age. I'm twenty-one and have never experienced true love, yet I have two sets of friends- one set was married at 18 right out of high school and they are going strong while the other married mid-sophomore year and I think it's a big mistake (there's already a baby on the way and they are sooo not prepared financially or emotionally) The answer to whether or not Buffy is really in love lies in her level of maturity (keep in mind I mean social and mental- not the intellectual type) not her age (although that does play a part- different priorities as Buffy said "I'm a teen- I get immature) Okay I think I'm done now, Marusky :) "Always remember to pilleage BEFORE you burn."
