The last part of Fallen seems pretty unrealistic. Don't get me wrong; it's written terrifically, but some parts contradict the show. In your story, Buffy doesn't know if she loves Angel, but on the show she totally does. She also doesn't know if Angel loves her, but he said so in the episode Suprise. She probably wouldn't fall in love with Xander anyway. Don't let me discourage you though. You've got good writing skills. - -Jaclyn To subscribe to buffyfic or buffyfic-digest, send the command subscribe buffyfic-digest or subscribe buffyfic to majordomo@xmission.com. Note: Thanks to all who offered their help. Disclaimer: They aren't mine. **** Hurry. The word vibrated through Giles' mind as the telephone dropped from his numb fingers. He sat behind his desk, his body paralyzed by shock and fear. 'This can't be happening!' the unbelieving emotional part of his mind informed him. But it was. This possibility had always hovered in the back of his mind, but Giles had consistently denied that traitorous thought. Until now. 'And now it may be too late'. His paralysis broke, and Giles shot back from his desk. Where he had been unmoving only moments before, action now took place. Giles rose to his feet, looking around the dimly lighted office that had practically become his home during his stay in Sunnydale. Now, the small room looked strange, dangerous. 'Don't just stand there, move!' his mind ordered. Giles grabbed up his Watcher's journal, quickly stuffing it into his briefcase. He would not allow the knowledge in that volume to fall into the hands of his enemies. It would be a small victory to keep it from them, but at the moment Giles was willing to take any victory that he could. 'Oh God... Buffy!' Giles jerked to a stop, his frantic rummaging stopped by the thought of the young Slayer that he had sworn to protect. He had to warn her. 'I can't let them get to her.' The thought of what would happen to Buffy should he be taken shook Giles to the very center of his being. 'I won't let that happen, I can't!' "I have to warn Buffy," Giles mumbled, fear marking his low words. The sound of an approaching car drew Giles towards the window. He peeked out, his heart pounding frantically. "No!" he groaned as the doors to the car swung open, two men emerging from it. "I'm too late!" Hurry. He had to run. He had no other options. Buffy would be alright. She was smart, and he had trained her to the best of his ability. She had friends to help her. She would be fine. 'If anything happens to her-- No! I can't think that!' Giles roughly shook his head, forcing the thoughts of Buffy to the back of his mind for the moment. He had more pressing things to worry about at the moment, and he would be of no help to her if he were to get caught now. Hurry. Giles clutched his briefcase in sweaty hands and darted towards the door. He ran through the darkened halls blindly, fear driving him forward. Soft whispers and creaks assulted his straining ears, sending Giles hiding behind the unlocked door of a nearby classroom. He stood motionless, only strength of will keeping him from abandoning his precarious hiding place and running. Giles listened intently as the soft sound of footsteps approached him. After doors swung open with low squeals of protest, he could hear the footsteps gradually approaching the room he stood in. Giles knew what he had to do. Strangely, a plan of action soothed his pounding heart slightly. Blind fear no longer claimed his mind, clarity of mind descended on him as his determination to act took hold. 'I only hope that this works' Giles offered up in silent prayer as the door to his room opened. The moment that it did, Giles sprung forward, his briefcase smashing into the shocked man's jaw with a sickening crunch. The man fell backwards, landing in the hall with a pained grunt. Giles didn't waste a moment of the man's disorientation. He came down on him again, his briefcase once more striking the man. He brought the leather bound case down on the base of the weakly struggling man's head until he no longer moved. The moment the man limply slumped to the ground, unconscious, Giles was once again sprinting down the hall. 'I wonder if they truly thought that I would be so easy to take that they only had to send two?' Giles wondered. 'But then again, I doubt that they knew that I would be forewarned of their arrival.' He met no more resistance on his flight from the school, and within moments, Giles burst from the building, heading into the night. FEEDBACK: Greatly appreciated. RATING: PG, for the usual Buffy language. SPOILER: All episodes have happened, but major spoilers for "Passion" DISCLAIMER: Anything that has to do with the Buffyverse in anyway, belongs to Joss Whedon, WB, etc. Only the story is mine. SUMMARY: The gang restore Angel's soul, aided by the yellow disk. AUTHOR'S NOTE: I know I already wrote a story in which Angel gets his soul back, but this one is a direct sequel to my other two stories "Moments of Truth" and "Unexpected Confrontation" and is in no way related to my other one. This one takes place immediately afterwards, so if you didn't read those two, you wil be confused with this one. If you want to read them, email me privately and I'll send them to you. Oh, and this * represents thoughts. ~~~~~~~~~~~ On the other side of town in the abandoned, and now burnt factory, Spike sat in a chair and watched Drusilla hang on her sire's every word. Ever since Angel lost his soul and reverted to Angelus, things have gone downhill for Spike. First he'd been confined to a wheelchair for weeks because of the fire he got caught in, compliments of the Slayer, and now Angelus was making the moves on Drusilla, causing Spike to be more than upset. *I'm going to do whatever it takes to get rid of Angelus, even if it means helping the Slayer,* Spike vowed to himself. *Like I said, you're going down Angelus. You can't just saunter in here and take over my territory like..like I don't exist! I'll make you pay* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Okay, so what exactly are we looking for?" Cordelia questioned. Buffy and the group were in Ms. Calendar's old computer room in the school the following day. When Buffy called all her friends, some were reluctant to help out, and some willingly agreed to help . Xander being a reluctant one, and Willow being a willing one. "A yellow disk, that goes in a computer," Willow reminded her. "You know I don't know why we're doing this? Why not just stake the bastard? I mean he killed Ms. Calendar, and now you're going to go and restore his soul? I don't get you," Xander complained. "First off, Angel and Angelus are two different people, Angel would never do anything that Angelus has done. Secondly, you don't have to be here. No one is forcing you to help. Besides, you saw for yourself that Angel is separate from Angelus when he came here yesterday," Buffy stared at him. Xander breathed a sigh. "I'm sorry...it's just," "I know, Xander, and I didn't mean to sound harsh," Buffy whispered. Xander just smiled at her understandingly and she returned the smile. "What if the disk is gone, I mean it's been a while," Oz asked. "I found it!" Willow shouted. "I found it!" Willow was jumping up and down, holding the disk in her hand. "Where was it?" Giles questioned. "Between the desks here. It must of been knocked there," Willow answered. Buffy walked towards Willow with a smile, then grabbed her friend in a hug, sharing her enthusiasm. "Well let's see what it says we have to do," Giles proceeded. The group left the room, and reconvened in the library. Willow sat down at the table with her laptop in front of her; carefully inserting the disk into the drive, and waited while it uploaded the information. When it was done the words "The Ritual of Restoration" appeared on the screen. "This is it," Willow confirmed. "What do we need?" Xander asked. "There's some words that have to be said, and a...Orb of Thesulah. Where are we supposed to get that?" "What is that, anyway?" Buffy asked confused. "An Orb of Thesulah is supposed to summon a person's soul from the ether, and hold it in the orb until it can be transferred," Giles informed them. "Are you saying we have to put Angel in this orby thing?" Buffy inquired. "His soul, Buffy." "That's what I meant." "Well then yes that's what we need to do." "Well we can't do anything with the orb so, I can make lots of copies of this ritual, on more disks, and print it out, just in case..." Willow trailed off. "Yes, very good idea, I'll a..see if I can track down an orb. The sooner we perform this ritual, the sooner Angelus stops terrorizing us," Giles agreed. They all nodded in agreement, and Willow went about copying the ritual as many times as possible. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to be continued.....
