In July '96, the NAZ rebounded for only 2 days, then sank to a lower close. In April '97, the NAZ rebounded for 5 days, then retested the lows three times over a three-week period. Again, if you buy this rebound, don't be surprised by a retest. - ----Db ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Oct 1997 11:52:18 -0800 From: "Christopher Reid" Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Now what? I too would be interested in hearing some of Peter's indicators, the big sign for me was simply looking at the most active (volume) stocks on the big three and noticing that almost all of them were making backward price movements on heavy volume for a good week leading up until, well yesterday. That and some of the negative attitudes towards the market generated by the group. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Oct 1997 11:56:34 -0500 From: sam Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Todays market IMHO this market is only for very short term traders that can watch a stock thru the day and can get lightning fast transactions.... Connie, you are probably loving this day...so much that you don't have time to respond till later. But the two 1% down days on increasing (and record ) volume with declining new highs and everything else where textbook examples. I have only seen this when declines are in progess. Folks if you have had a good experience with your electronic trading broker specially today till noon, please share with us. This is an important enough test to sort the good ones from bad. Trading I have accounts at both of these and Datek too. The only one I can get trades or information from is Datek (albeit, much slower than usual.) Its seems to me that we wont be able to get back in until after the big boys have picked up their bargains. Maybe they deserve it, they saved this market.. Actually, maybe they didn't have a lot of choice. They couldn't unload any significant number of shares without seding the market spiralling downwards and giving up much of their profits (and fund managers bonuses). So given the fundamentals of the market haven't really changed maybe the only thing to do was to orchestrate a rally. Just a thought..Hope its a real rally.
