Good EPS and RS numbers as reported by Quotes plus, might differ a bit from IBD. - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2000 21:54:12 -0600 From: "Patrick Wahl" Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] M One energy stock people might want to check out is Patterson Energy (PTEN). It doesn't have a high EPS number, so if that disturbs you, don't even bother, but technically it is acting very well. Glad to be so. The NAZ bounced off the 200 dma from the underside yesterday like it was a ping pong ball. If I had ever wanted to buy defensive stocks, I would have bought MCD at 28 this afternoon. I have been watching it for four years and it was in a classic bottom-fisher situation already (sitting on the 2-year low set in the Oct 98 mini-crash) and then they announced they would increase their dividend. What perfect timing! Unfortunately my wife already owns way too much of it (it's worth much less than what it was granted to her at). I think it is trading days, so probably not a time to be plunging into anything. I hold one mattress stuffer type stock and an energy stock which is hanging right about where I bought it. I've looked at a few things as potential shorts (ADBE looks like a possiblity), but just about when I decide its time to short something, the market rebounds.
