Until I am convinced we are in an intermediate term uptrend, I will not be putting on any long canslim trades. I have lost too much this year through failed breakouts. This is not a typical bear market, hence I think the 2% follow through is probably a good idea. What I have been trying out, and making some money on, is swing trading. It takes a lot more time than canslim, requiring I watch the market continuously throughout the day, but it satisfies my need to be doing something in the market. Profitable trades have all been on the short side of the market. The hardest part is staying up until 3:00 a.m. (due to my time zone) for the market close. I've noticed any time you look at a any stock, the top five in the same industry group are shown. Neat little feature. Not saying you need to go out and buy the book for our group, just pointing out how it could be done. If you could then somehow see when a company first gets into the one of the top 40 groups, one of the best five......now that would be interesting.............
