I've always thought many of the sell rules were a bit tough to follow. I think adding the additional criteria really validates the sell. - -Bill Triffet - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Katherine Malm" To: Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2001 5:17 PM Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] azo : exhastion top > Bill, > > Here's a slight variation on this sell rule that I learned from Kevin Marder > & Greg Kuhn (hedge fund guys, aggressive growth): > > If all three of these criteria are met, be prepared to sell, as the price > can fall 15-25%: > > (1) >125% above the recent base low AND > (2) >70% above the 200 day MA AND > (3) >25% above the 50 day MA. > - - - -To subscribe/unsubscribe, email "majordomo@xmission.com" - -In the email body, write "subscribe canslim" or - -"unsubscribe canslim". I just wish I could get this very same chart for individual stocks. Would really help to see volume breakouts during the day. I'm terrible with intraday volume i.e. guessing how the current volume campares to the previous days totals. While I use the old " divide the day by the current time period then muliply the current volume by it" it's not as visual as that chart. - -Bill Triffet - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Worley" To: Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2001 6:07 PM Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Volume Very interesting and informative presentation, Patrick, thanks. If I am reading this right, volume today in the first half hour was heavier than in any one hour segment for the past 2 weeks, with the exception of the final hour of trading. And the final hour of trading for the past 7 days has been significantly heavier than any other one hour segment during those seven days. I hadn't noticed this pattern. Allows you to scan using criteria that include EPS, RS, earnings growth, sales growth, volume increases, etc, you can write your own scans. Metastock is good for technical analysis, but you still need data feeds and a way to screen for the stocks you want to look at. On 5 Dec 2001 at 20:53, J.
