I cannot fathom how anybody could ever be 'impressed' by the use of an abbreviation. Abbreviations are intended to save time and typing strokes, that is all. When I first joined this list I couldn't figure out about 50% of the ones in common usage here. However, all I had to do was ask, and the regulars would fill me in.
 
LLUR (Lower Left, Upper Right - referring to a steadily rising chart pattern), was the biggest stumper for me.
