Service Station" Subject: (klf) TWROST discs are arriving week of Aug. 3-7 Kind friends of the KLF Mailing List, The copies of The White Room Original Soundtrack discs will be here next week, and shipping will commence soon after that. They will be sent out on a organized / chaos basis, as I didn't log the arrival date of each of your orders in the master list. It is written on each order, and I will make every attempt to get the older (paid earlier) orders out first. They have been in a growing stack, positioned by arrival, so that shouldn't be a problem. They were jumbled during the first half of the mailing of LSOM2. I just wanted to make the statement so people who paid in the beginning won't be upset when someone posts that they got their order after only sending their payment off a week prior. They will all be sent in a continuous series, with each day's shipment being as many as I can pack each night before the calories in my system expire and I fall into dreamland. 6^) Sitting here on the cusp of completion of this, yet another cycle in the underground support of a pair of artists whose works we collectively keep alive, I'd like to say "thank you" to everyone involved in the various projects I have been a part of over the years involving the many faces of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty. Without the help of every one of you who either mastered a disc, loaned a tape, designed a package, or even purchased a copy, these discs would not have been possible. One would be hard pressed to find another news group that keeps the flame of passion burning so brightly for their artists that uses an information exchange structure as involved and complex as ours. MP3's and CD-Rs are still new technologies, and not all of the other groups are jammed full of wire heads. Even more unusual is the structured and universal support of bootlegged recordings within the group, even as far as group participation in the creation of them! What started in 1989 with the renegade CD pressing of "1987" by myself and a partner, and continued into 1998 with the issuing of The White Room Original Sound Track, was a labor of love. I was a huge fan of Pop Will Eat Itself, and the owner of the record shop where I was employed in 1998 suggested I check out a few of the JAMMs 12"s we had in the bins. So I put one on, (I don't even remember which one, since I went through the whole lot that day!) and found a new love. Here were artists who borrowed other people's works to create their own personal statements. So simple in mechanics that anyone and everyone could to it! With the release of "1987", I myself borrowed the works of Bill & Jimmy to make my own statement about censorship and government control. Boy was it hard to sell a disc whose whole street visibility was that it wasn't legally available. I had a store that sold quite a few because the shop owner thought it was a great mixed tape/party record. Whatever it takes for people to hear and enjoy it! Now that MP3's and CDRs are accessible to more people, the time comes to ask this question: If there was to be a "Lost Sounds of Mu Vol. 3" or another disc of a vital reissue, such as "Space", "Who Killed The JAMMs", "Shag Times" or "The What Time Is Love Story" would you buy the pressed disc? I would have the disc pre manufactured and will announce to the list when it is available. The discs will be shipped the day after your payment arrives. Simple and easy. So please write to me just a quick note with "KLF YES" or "KLF NO" in the subject. If there are enough positive responses, we will send the next project off to press in August. It will be a cleaned up and amplified version of "Space" with extra tracks, or another rarities comp, LSOM3. If you answer yes, please state your preference in the subject : "KLF YES SPACE" or "KLF YES LSOM3" Thanks, and I apologize for not being in touch more often. It's so easy to watch the world moving in front of you. You forget that communication is two way. Hope this note helps alleviate a few fears, audio, Marshall Dickson 24 Hr.
