There is a post office in the village of Wingrave itself, but the nearest main postal depot would no doubt be Aylesbury. >the only thing that's strange is The KLF always wrote "The UK" at the >end of there address not "UK" why drop "The"? Maybe the person dealing with the registration details neglected to include this particular variant if it was still in use? >I had a look at the site, you can browse all different requests >people have made for their deaths. There alphabetised by >surname, I looked for Drummond, Bill or Drummond, William but >couldn't see it and Caughty. I registered my details on there at least a year or more ago and have noticed a that a few hoax entries have been deleted from time to time (an inclusion by Stewart Home being one which I recall...) Incidentely, the Bill Drummond mydeath cards sounds very similar to the concept of SH`s necrocards and seem to be yet another manipulated appropriated idea that Bill has swiped from Stewart in the best possible taste! When Bill was promoting these in Belfast I presume that he was also promoting The Intercontinental Twinning Association action that he carried out there which has been documented by the publication of Penkiln Burn postcard number 6: 'City 1: Belfast, October 2000'. Belfast was 'twinned with your wildest dreams' and whilst Bill was meant to be sticking up and promoting two similar signs declaring that Hull was to be 'twinned with your darkest thought' at the Root Festival of hoaxing and pranking held there last October he seems to have not actually put up the signs and instead spent most of the time there either attending lectures by Stewart Home or driving around the back streets of the city being videoed putting graffiti onto skips by Dragon Skip Hire Ltd that claimed that 'this skip is twinned with the next skip that you see next Monday morning', etc. (A 'review' of the weekend's events was posted by myself here soon afterwards and I also notice that the same information has also been published on the Root website courtesy of SH as he thought that my take on the whole event was more appropriate than he wasting valuable time trying to sum up the festival by himself when providing them with feedback). ;-) A write-up was also included in the following month`s issue of Bizarre magazine (along with a feature/expose on the Krash'n'Burn event on 5/11/00 and www.twentythree.co.uk phenomena that were also quite memetic at that time, and hence also got featured in that month`s issues of The Face and Q magazine too). There were a pile of 1,000 limited edition postcards of the Belfast action (pb Postcard Six) and this indicated that the Intercontinental Twinning Association would be twinning five cities in five continents. Anyone know what the other three are/were and whether similar postcards are available or mentioned (I've not checked the Penkiln Burn website yet, and there are a few unlinked pages and a total lack of info and a fair amount of disinformation emanating from it anyway!) Most postcards were ignored or used as roaches and only a few people actually seemed to notice how significant that they might be and took a few handfulls. I assume that the remainder soon ended up in the art gallery`s rubbish the following week (especially as the organisers appear to be a tad pissed off at Bill`s seeming lack of participation and contribution reaching their expectations, etc). Also on display were large ITA posters/bumper stickers that read: The Intercontinental Twinning Association has selected HULL to be twinned with YOUR DARKEST THOUGHT If you have any idea what this means or what it could lead to, please contact: ita@penklin-burn.com These were similarly ignored/collected/disposed accordingly during and after the weekend. Perhaps of some note the ITA logo is a circle that contains two merging arrows at an angle that closely resembles the sigil for the Goddess Eris. I would expect that the chances of anyone getting a reply from this particular pb e-mail address are as slim as receiving a response from any of the other e-mail address on the same website though! > The KLF has a date by it of 1986-02-23 (23rd February >1986 - could this be the date B&J got the idea for The KLF?) AFAIK The JAMMS were formed on 1/1/87 Oh! And can we please have some confirmed sightings of BD in New York on the 23rd of last month as prevosuly claimed at length as whoever may have turned up must have been a doppleganger as the real BD was at home having a barbecue in the sun and eating cake on a beautiful summer`s day... :-O # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info klf" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email klf@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # KLF discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?klf ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Jul 2001 19:42:22 +0100 (BST) From: Stuart Bruce Subject: (klf) Missing mails I sent two mails to this list from my work address earlier today, and neither of them actually got through, although I've been receiving mail without any problems to that address, haven't changed the address or anything, so I can't really figure out what the problem must be. Anyway, until those messages reappear somewhere in the mists of time, the general gist was; I'm fairly sure that the address uncovered for mydeath.net is probably Bill Drummond's address- but I _plea_ that obsessive fans on this list don't decide "oh right, tell you what, to prove what good fans we are and to convince him to make more music I'll go round to his house and try to talk him into it". Or even decide to write him a letter. *Please* don't... in my opinion it's more likely to send him into hiding than to make him come out into the open. There were also minor points such as "The UK" and "UK" aren't so different as to prove that it's not the same person writing the address, and so on. Also, perhaps worth noting in passing, those who recall the BBC TV Omnibus programme might like to note that footage of BD`s home is shown as part of the film (a shot from the side of the main road across the fields at the back of the farm house) and this reveals it to be quite an unassuming place and I`m sure that`s how he likes it too! BTW the road sign in the lower end of the village tends to be hidden and overgrown and seems to frequently display just 'RAVE' which is sort of apt in an odd way. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info klf" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email klf@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # KLF discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?klf ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Jul 2001 19:08:34 -0400 (EDT) From: Snarfy Subject: (klf) OT/Throat singing.. That's a freakish coincidence; I gave cartoonist Eddie Campbell- http://www.eddiecampbellcomics.com -a copy of 45 for his birthday last year, given all the coincidental simlarities between him and Bill (Scottish artists who started working in England in the 70s, pals with Alan Moore, working on books about mid-life reassessments of their work and life, etc). His latest book is actually called How To Be An Artist, so if Bill really has done a book with that title, I'm buying a lottery ticket or something. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info klf" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email klf@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # KLF discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?klf ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Jul 2001 21:04:56 +0200 From: "Torsten Pattberg" Subject: (klf) WTILS Wow, found (and bought) a WTILS (JAMS LP4) for $1 today!
