Re: (mobility) (mobility) New to the list (mobility) ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 (mobility) TRL (mobility) SONICNET JUNE 2 Re: (mobility) SONICNET JUNE 2 (mobility) MOBY ON THE BUS Re: (mobility) New to the list (mobility) PLAY on SonicNet (mobility) edge fest Re: (mobility) SONICNET JUNE 2 Re: (mobility) PLAY on SonicNet Re: (mobility) PLAY on SonicNet ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 30 May 1999 19:37:31 EDT From: "m_a_d_ f_l_o_w_r" Subject: (mobility) {mobility} moby's dj set yesterday in baltimore in the whfs trancemissions tent yesterday was the 10th annual hfs-tival. 2 weeks ago i had only one reason to go. that was fountains of wayne. then i found out moby was going to be appearing for a dj set in the trancemissions tent. i decided i would go when i heard that. they were $30 originally and i figured i'd need to bring $40 at least to get a ticket but some girl was nice enough to sell me a tic for face value. it's so nice to know there are good people out there. most of the people there i could tell i would see many times throughout the day and want to puke each time. jock-os from my old high school. reallllly slutty girls wearing string bikinis and booty shorts with the buttons unbuttoned to show their bikini bottoms. anyways, that was pure hell being around those types. at fow i actually had a good time and i was very glad there was only ONE instance of crowd surfing during their set. most of the ppl there to see them were polite and singing/lip synching along. they played leave the biker, probably my fave fow song. in any case that was lovely. this is the wrong list to post that to i believe. i wandered into the trancemissions tent after i met fow and secured an interview with them when they come back to the area. things are blurry. the tent was strange this year. i smelled weed there. that was not comforting. i wish smoking of all kinds had been banned in there because it was already stuff enough and there was fog around lalala. i found out moby was going on at 3. i figured i could leave the tent with my friend vic and wander around til i found a nice place to rest. i ended up falling asleep on one of those ramps going up to the 2nd floor of the psinet. i woke up and it was like 2 pm and we got something to eat. then i saw that it was 2:30 and i was like "we go to the trancemissions tent now" and we made our way over there and the line was HUGE. i had not expected this really as most of the ppl in the line were hootchie girls and jocky guys. that sucked. a bunch of ppl left the line cos they were not even about seeing moby. there was a huge rush of people trying to get in. like those shitty crushes that happen in a mosh pit and people move from side to side. i'm like "this is not the place this should be happening". so i finally got in a minute after moby came out. and i squished up to a few rows to the right of moby's stand. i am really not familiar with types of electronic music. i did like what he spun though [way better than this dj spinning some record about 'pussy' earlier in the day]. so i started dancing. i felt bad since vic doesn't dance. it really wasn't his thing. it is really a wonderful feeling dancing around other people who throughly wanted to be there for moby's set but there were a bunch of stupid jock types laughing and pretending that they were gonna break dance or some shite. grr. in any case there were a few nice people in the audience. one with pinkish glo- sticks standing right next to me and then he moved up to stand on the barricade. wow this is a long mail. in any case, i know this may sound geeky but i was wondering if anyone taped the transmissions program on whfs last night cos they played part of moby's set last night and i was soo wanting to tape it but i was driving home from dropping off vic. if anyone has a copy of it or actually bootlegged his whole set, i'd really like to trade for it. please check out www.underworld.net/~madflowr/trade.html if you do have it. thanks a bunch! evol, madflowr _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
