It really does feel like Metroid. But I have two gripes with the game. One, the controls can get clunky at times when fighting. The lock-on can get a bit tricky in the heat of battle when trying to take out something above you. I often end up just aiming manually for things higher than me and fairly close (like wasps). Also, is there any way to spin quickly?? Samus turns far, far too slow. There were a couple of time when I was in a room full of enemies and had to run to one side, to gain some distance, and then try to turn and fire on them. The problem was that it took so long to turn that I never really gained much room. Pretty annoying when you're used to the split second turns in other FPS-type* games (*yeah, yeah..FPA..blah, blah). There really should have been a way to adjust the sensitivity of the analog sticks. Samus' look speed to horribly slow. Second, there is simply too much damn scanning to be done. It's cool feature, but damn, those scan points are everywhere. It wouldn't bother me so much if there was at least a "use" button. It's pretty lame to have to scan a control panel just to a open door or use a lift. I want to just run up to it and "use" it like pretty much every other first person game in existence. Really, those complaints are fairly minor compared to much fun the game is to play, but they do annoy me at times...especially since they are both easily fixable. If = players=20 want to play their Game Boy games full-screen, they have that option as=20 well...and the Game Boy Player's image didn't seem to suffer when = stretching it=20 to the edges of the screen.

Gamers can either play their Game Boy = titles with=20 the GBA hooked up to a controller port on the GameCube, or they can use = a=20 GameCube controller. Gamers can customize the buttons on the GameCube = controller=20 to whatever they want through the device's simplistic menu system, and = yes, both=20 the D-pad and the control stick will function in all games.

One of the most interesting features is = a sleep=20 timer, much like what's used on television systems. Parents can set the = playtime=20 on a Game Boy Player for a set amount of time before powering down, much = to the=20 annoyance of the kid in the middle of a game session. The odd switch on = the=20 right side of the device is indeed an eject button, to make removing of = the=20 cartridge a lot easier for the user.

The Game Boy Player's link port can = hook up to=20 other Game Boy systems or Game Boy Players for multiplayer gaming. Sorry = folks,=20 but the peripheral will not feature any sort of split-screen multiplayer = on one=20 system.

The unit will go on sale in Japan in = March 2003,=20 with a US release around May.

Today American = retailers=20 stated that the bonus disc would be available in the US, too.

Heck, I emailed them once with a question concerning licensing fees I'd heard about on IGN. Their response: "We appreciate your concern, yada yada yada, but this is a rumor on an unofficial website." They never want to tell anyone anything until they make their own press release. Still though, this is fantastic news. However Ura Zelda is, it'll definitely be nice to have a version of OoT on the GC. - -Satoshi _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail [ To quit the NGamers mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe ] [ NGamers" (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Dec 2002 14:38:32 -0800 (PST) From: Rick Sharer Subject: Re: [NG] Zelda Bonus Disc Coming to US!!! - --- Satoshi GC wrote: > Still though, this is fantastic news.
