Compared to December 2001, the final month of 2002 saw console sale increases of 48% for Xbox, 39% for PS2, and 8% for GameCube. Xbox has seen 56% greater third-party sales than the GameCube in just over a year of existence. On the one hand, Nintendo has basically dug themselves into third place in the US, Euro, and Australian markets (from what I hear, GC basically doesn't exist there). On the other hand, they have what seems to be there unlimited cash cow with the GBA (which, in Japan, outsold the PS2 during the holidays). All I can say is that if Nintendo is going to leave the console industry, I sincerely don't think it'll happen this generation. What it depends on now is Satoru Iwata. He says that he is very disappointed in the GC's worldwide sales and I think he's in the mood for a change. The next generation may be what decides Nintendo's fate. I hope they do better. They should be doing better right now. - -Satoshi My Collection: http://users.ign.com/collection/Takeshi_GC _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail [ To quit the NGamers mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe ] [ NGamers" (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Jan 2003 09:37:34 -0600 From: "Satoshi GC" Subject: Re: [NG] XBOX and gameCube >From: "Pythagoras" >Reply-To: NGamers@lists.xmission.com >To: >Subject: Re: [NG] XBOX and gameCube >Date: Fri, 24 Jan 2003 07:04:35 -0500 > > > >Where did you see the GameCube Player's Choice games, and what games are >they? > >Pythagoras / TreyTable2@msn.com > It was announced on IGN. Post the URL, maybe a snippet or two to let folks know where the article is going... anything more is redundant and wasteful. As for the Xbox info (even though it did barely mention Nintendo)... yeah, I'd say it didn't belong here and was definitely off-topic. That's why I don't post here on this list anymore. Most of you are on Jed's list and anything can be posted there about any console. So, I post there and worry not about being off-topic.
