So I guess I'm Cranky, but that's better than Funky. Burning CDs ain't like dustin crops boy. :-) But CD burner technology is still somewhat unreliable and when its burning, the surface the burner is sitting on shouldn't be distured or else it will burn incorrectly. burning cds is actually very tricky, and its not all physical disturbance that causes a CD to burn incorrectly. Sometimes there's something wrong with the software where it can't fully copy into the HD for the burning or the manufacturer got some kind of lock in the CD. I remember my friend trying to burn a game for me this past summer and it kept running into errors because of some stupid software thing. And that's why i doubt it will ever become a really mainstream thing until they make it tough, rugged and user friendly. The expansion pak is just 4 megs of RAM... more ram doesn't mean no pop-up. It allows more polygons to be drawn by triple buffering the game. given the vividness of the environments involved, a lot of polygons are already tied up there, not to mention to the characters and enemies. Then of course, the ram is used to keep track of the entire level. note that jumping between bonus games and the levels aside, there is no "loading" or "fade to black" screen in dk64, which means i can walk from one end of the level to the other if i wanted to, and to do that, yes, you'd need a ton of ram to keep track of things such as geometry, collision detection etc. Dexter > > > Dave > > Smegma, dogmatagram, fishmarket stew > Police in a corner, gunnin' for you > Appletoast, bedheated, furblanket rat > Laugh when they shoot you, say > "Please don't do that" > > [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] > [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Dec 1999 01:24:39 EST From: TreyTable@aol.com Subject: Re: [N64] DK64 In a message dated 12/22/99 11:36:54 PM Eastern Standard Time, Nutz4n64@aol.com writes: > Does it really annoy you that much? Mario RPG also doesn't look that bad.. I would choose Super Smash Brothers in a four way battle with NO weapons. You can have seperate leagues in which you put players against same players (i.e. Kirby's vs. Kirby's and Link's vs. Link's). After the battles come down to the best players for the 12 characters, there would be 3 4-way battles and then the last 3 to make it would play for the title! ~Cy In a message dated Tue, 21 Dec 1999 7:02:23 PM Eastern Standard Time, TreyTable@aol.com writes: > In a message dated 12/21/99 4:07:01 PM Eastern Standard Time, > coldjuce@hotmail.com writes: > > > It would have to be Wrestlemania 2000 team royal rumble mode.
