Besides, Dave's comparison of Zelda 64 and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver to DK64 is pitiful. platformer vs. adveture titles? Maybe he should try spyro 2... oh wait, the entire list will rise in revolt and ridicule his comparison, heheheh Dexter > > > [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] > [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Dec 1999 11:46:21 -0800 From: Dexter Sy Subject: [N64] Can the N64 really do this? Graphically, they are about the same. The control is usually the same. The cameras are often set up the same. Really, the only real difference is objectives. For example, in adventure titles you collect weapons or armor or similar things, while in platformers you collect things like puzzle pieces, red coins, stars, etc... In adventures titles, the games are usually divided into 'areas' while in platformers they are often called 'level'...but they are basically the same. Adventure stories usually have a more serious or 'grand' storyline, while platformers have storylines that are more like childrens stories. I have always thought platformers, adventure, and action titles were similar.
