I would say that Crash is a mascot though since he is in general PSX commercials and in stuff like Pizza Hut commercials...but it should be noted that Sony does not plaster him all over their PSX boxes or store displays to the degree that Nintendo does with their mascots. Also, since when did Spyro become a mascot?? I have seen him in commercials for his own game, but I don't see him on boxes or anything else. If anyone 'manufactures'...it is Nintendo. Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside 2 - N64 Harvest Moon - N64 Courtside is a great basketball game, and is IMO the best basketball game for the 64 right now. The game is unlike any other; I am an avid sports gamer and I still have not won a game on season mode (0-9) and the difficulty is on normal of all things. The only problem I have with it is that the games are set to be 6 minutes for each period, and if you change it to 9 or 12 minutes, the AI starts to average points in the 150's. For those who like a laid back RPG, then Harvest Moon is a good game. The actual people in the game look very good graphics wise and it offers a good amount of gameplay. Diddy aside, none of the Kongs created ever headed a franchise of their own, and Diddy Kong Racing is an arguable franchise for Diddy since everyone i know (including me) hated it and its likely there won't ever be a sequel. Forcing a mascot into a market and handing it a franchise because it is the industry standard for a successful game character is called manufacturing. take a look at your history and you'll see many of the most recognizable faces in videogames weren't "faked". They actually were popular games, very popular games and were eventually adopted as a mascot, or an icon for a company... Story is actually pretty good. Nearly every review of the game agrees with me on this one. An, no, a monkey could not get through the game. Sure, all you have to do is click buttons to get throught the story sequences, but you to still fight all the battle like you do in any RPG. Your supposition is preposterous. A lot of people really loved the game. Like I said, you just don't like the direction it has gone.
