Also nintendo Australia have stated that the cart is now 512mb to accomadate the changes.. The European release should be the same as Australia. For Perfect Dark's release for the rest of the non-US population worldwide, its going to be the PAL version of the game, and you we learn that some changes will be made. Thanks to an an Austrailian fan, Anup Jois, for doing some 'investigative reporting' for us. He called up Nintendo of Austrailia to get the real facts. He found out a lot of interesting new things. First of all he confirm the Austrailian PD release date is June 16, where two versions with and without the Expansion Pak will be sold, costing $115 or $100 Austrailian dollars depending on the version. We also learn that bugs found in the already released NTSC version of the game will be fixed in the PAL version, one of these bugs which causes PD to freeze is in the Warehouse combat simulator level with three player, it will be fixed for the June international release. But the biggest news info that might make you non-US fans think that you extra wait was worth it by all means, thats because according to Nintendo, the frame rate in the PAL version of the game has been drastically improved from the American NTSC version, particularly in he co-operative and counter-operative modes. My opinion is that the current co-op and counter-op modes a a tiny bit choppy, yet still very bearable, though I definitely would have been willing to wait a little longer for improvements to be made. Oh well, Perfect Dark is perfect enough as is. Ah yes, one last thing that was learned from Nintendo, the PD box will be the exactly the same in PAL and NTSC versions, so that PAL box art from yesterday isn't the real PAL box for PD, it is merely a nice looking fan art that was thought to be official." I > need ... your comments about that !!! > On the surface it's no better than the framerate in Goldeneye. But Perfect Dark does sport many environmental effects, mainly real time (for the most part) lighting and smarter enemy AI. Not to mention PlayStation quality voices (that can be an insult or compliment, take it how you want) and better sound overall. In High Res mode the framerate gets bad, but there isn't much difference in graphics between normal and high res to need a high res mode, not like as seen in Turok 2 or Star Wars Rogue Squadron. But mostly the framerate issue is determined by one's point of view. (fill in Obi Wan Kenobi quote here) If you were playing Crazy Taxi, Speed Devils, or Hydro Thunder at their glorious 60 frames per second framerate then go to Perfect Dark, PD will looks slow and choppy in comparison, but if you were playing Turok 2 or Perfect Dark in "slo-mo" mode, then PD at regular speed would look just fine. It's perfectly playable at most settings, but just don't expect Dreamcast kind of fluidness. For multiplayer four humans and four sims is the Max that should be played, never go over 4 & 4 and you should be fine. > More, did somebody take some notes about the places where the game freezes, > or does it happen at any time ? > Oh, and don't play the Warehouse with three human players, that's as far as I know. Well I have two ports on my current PSX and the second slot hardly ever gets used as I don't play sports games much and I prefer to play most games by myself. the only game I can think of that I played multiplayer on a lot was goldeneye, and recently I've played some two player soul calibur. you also have to remember that there is USB connectivity, so a Sony branded USB hub is very likely to replace the multitap and USB dual shock joypads would slot right in. technically the PSX2 could host a 12 player game with current accessories on the market but as you say online is where it is going to happen as you can't get half a dozen friends around every day whereas playing against hundreds online will be a can o' corn. Garrett I've been thinking a lot about the supposed sensory controllers for the dolphin and since I haven't seen much about it anywhere I've let my mind wander as to what it might be. does anyone remember the glove and other gimmicky addons, well what about controllers that you wear on your hands and in certain games you may be able to control what your character does on screen ( such as driving, swiinging a sword or firing a gun) to go one more step why not have a glove handset that allows you to feel the object in your hand for that extra realism.
