I've just been told by a marketing source for electrical retailers that the PS:2 will most likely be delayed until November.....just in time for the Christmas console wars, the big N should be worried now that Pokemon seem to have had their day (hope they have something up their sleeve). As for the conversion, it works out as £300.00 = $451.060 (todays rate). I'm not worried though, as everyone knows us Europeans live in large castles and have lots of spare cash in our treasury. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 08:38:36 +1000 From: "Moody, Luke" Subject: RE: [N64] At last???? That is debatable...but more to the point...it will apparently not play like other Zelda games. That may end up being it's weakness. If it was going to truly play like OOT, I would be pumped up about it. But since it will be that finished-as-fast-as-you-can style...I'm not so excited about it. I also have yet to see the hype surrounding this game that the previous ones had. > It's going to look pretty nice up against the pricey PS2 with its aliased > arcade ports. It is also a return it it's older style of story and gameplay...a fact that is not likely to be lost on many. And it is already generating a lot of coverage in various magazines. Will gamers buy a systme for an RPG? I don't know. But RPGs are far more popular these days. Also I dont think the question should be "Will mainstream gamers pick up the system specifically so they can play an RPG?" ...but if it truly came down to a system (PS2) vs a game (ZMM) for someone...who would actually choose a game? My point is....if it is ready now, they should just release it. It will have ZERO effect on PS2 sales either way. It won't affect my buying choices when the PS2 arrives. One game won't do much, but a series of games will. If Nintendo were to pop out a game a week up 'til the October 26th, they might be able to pull off more. Besides, you're looking at $50 vs. $300+. That's like Mercedes offering me the Benz hood ornament so I don't go out and buy a new BMW. The game looks good but I not going to buy a PS1 when I am buying a PS2 in two months. So it has added to the decision of buying a PS2. > -----Original Message----- > From: Thraxen [SMTP:thraxen@ipa.net] > Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2000 8:52 AM > To: n64@lists.xmission.com > Subject: Re: [N64] Majora > > > > I'd like to think that, but it's very hard.
