The responses came back pretty fast, most on the same day but were very short. This person was confident that the game would be relaesed but could not speculate as ot any particular timeframe. However, the possibilty of a sequel was also mentioned and that they are looking at the DD, but only for the sequel. So far, this is information that anybody who reading news on N64 web pages knows. But, at the end of one of my messages, I jokingly asked if they needed any external playtesters. His response was that they couldn't use me because I don't live in San Francisco. So, if anyone who lives in that area is interested, I'd suggest dropping them a message and you might get a chance to play the game early. The site is at www.gametek.com. Neither do productivity apps such as Mario Artist. These are games that will only appeal to a very small niche in America and won't generate any large amount of system sales for Nintendo. Mario 64 2, however, IS a killer app that will definitely sell systems for Nintendo. But since Nintendo is saying they want to have at least 60-80% sell through if they were going to bring out the 64DD, one killer app (Mario 64 2) definitely won't bring them anywhere near that. I think for the 64DD to be truly successful in America it will need 3 or 4 killer apps at LAUNCH, not 1. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the drive, I really REALLY want to play Mother 3, but things aren't looking good. The DKC 64 pull out sure seems like a good indication that Nintendo isn't planning on releasing the drive in America.
