Yeah, I think I remember Dave saying that the next step for the medium of
game storage might be massive, inexpensive cartridges. They are so much
faster than any disk, although MS has a great idea with that hard drive (like
a built in cartridge they can transfer data to during gameplay).

Yeah, I think I remember Dave saying that the next step for the medium of
game storage might be massive, inexpensive cartridges. They are so much
faster than any disk, although MS has a great idea with that hard drive (like
a built in cartridge they can transfer data to during gameplay).
 
Unless there is a major breakthrough in ROM development, cartridges will be most useful as a supplementary medium.

WOW, a minute???  Red Faction is about 10-15 seconds, though fairly often.  I
like RF's continous load, with no real "levels".  Does Quake 3 have that?
