Try it with Samus, Link, or Young Link. Samus will use her grappling beam to grab you from a distance, and the brothers Link will use their hookshots (Young Link's range is much smaller). It really is cool throwing mechanics in that game. You can throw in any direction and see some cool animations, and tapping Z a few times before the throw lets you get in a few bitch slaps to your opponent. Also, it takes a lot of practice, but if your thrown off the ledge with anyone with an extended throw, you can use that to latch on to the ledge of the stage. The timing takes a bit, but it's good for assholes who perch on the ledge and keep smacking you at the end of your return attempts. Plus, you look like a real pro if you can latch on to the edge of the Great Fox, zip up your life line and smack you foe in the face. Does anyone else wish that HAL used the Young Link of Majora's Mask as the character model for SSB Melee? I would have loved to see that shield, that loger-range sword, etc. Plus, it would make for some more substantial differences between Link and Young Link (have the mirror shield reflect things a la Fox or Falco?) and the trophies would have looked much cooler. ~Matt "Carrot Cake Soup is like the taste of watching girls make out." - Penny Arcade - --part1_11a.aa00aa5.297d1f2f_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit In a message dated 1/21/02 12:36:29 AM Eastern Standard Time, treytable@msn.com writes:

I can still piss all my friends off with my blocking (I use my shield and roll a lot on the ground like the level 9 computers did in the N64 version). Also, I play as Samus, and with her long reach when it comes to grabs (which a lot of people misjudge just how car the grappling beam goes), I can really do some great throws. Try this: as Samus, throw your foe straight down. They hit the ground, bounce up, and if your quick, you can grab them again before the hit the ground again and just loop these throws. I've gotten a friend well over 50+ in damage before he broke my chain. Then a few of those midair kicks, and he was done. Anyone happen to go back and play the N64 version? I have, and JESUS! Is it slow! And I dunno about you buys, but the enhancements to the controls (like the over+B attacks and the more powerful A attacks) really have added a lot to my game. I kept trying to shoot missiles at my opponent in the N64 game and realized how much that alone has added to the game. The Z trigger is grab. For Link, Yoshi, and Samus, it can work from a small
distance away. For the rest, you have to be right next to the other
character. If you have a group of people that you play games with, be sure
to try multiplayer before you return the game.

I have no friends (who play games that live close enough to make that possible) and only have one controller for my Gamecube. I doubt I'll be able to play multi-player on SSBM on this rental. Maybe I'll get a chance next time I visit my cousin's children, since they have a Cube, SSBM, and four controllers. I can say that SSBM is much better than SSB on the N64.

I was wondering if any of you have bought any "Asian games?"

I have recently bought two games off of eBay, and when I received them they
were in loose baggies (sealed, but not shrikwrapped) and the cardboard

reproduced. Also, they are the new Zelda Gameboy games and where the gold

just throw everything away anyway, and also they make things cheaply to
lessen the money they lose from piracy. This is from the guy that offered
me the two Oracle of Seasons/Ages game on one cartridge that I asked about

I have no idea if this is true or not, but I thought that gamers in Asia

artwork and instructions (especially for a game like Zelda) would be really
important. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Those trophies have been introducing me to Nintendo games I never knew anything about. Anyone around here know about a game called Balloon Fight? I remember someone asking during a game session what those twirly red things were. Since I read through the trophies, I said it was from some game called Balloon Fight, and a girl in the back jumped in and said, "Oh yeah, that was so awesome! That was like old school Nintendo!"
