Melee Well, I did it. Crossed over to the Dark Side today. I had to do it. I was at the game store, and I got Ico for the PS2, and I had some credit left over. So I said to myself, I have to get a Gamecube game, I need another one. It's been too long to just have one game. So I looked. Extreme G3, no I don't really care for hyper motorbikes. Crazy Taxi? No I already have it. Pikmin? Nah, doesn't sound like I'd like it. SSX Tricky? You must be joking. THPS3? Nah, have the best version already. Simpson's Road Rage? Nah, sounds shallow. Cel Damage? Ha! what a joke. Luigi's Mansion? Don't think so. So I ended up leaving the store with Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ico. I traded in Rez (it gave me siesures) and five worthless Dreamcast games (which I got more in credit than I paid for them). That 100 Man Melee, man I came so close, 13 left to go before they booted Link of the screen. Got Dr. Mario as a playable character. For the 100 man Melee: use DK's down + B attack. Just keep hitting it; the enemies are so dumb they just walk right into you. Now try getting 21 KOs in Cruel Melee; that's something to brag about! The trick in the home run derby is to get the bag's damage up as high as you can *BEFORE* you Home Run Smash it to hell. Everyone says Yoshi is the best, and I must concur. The trick is to grab the bat, head over to the bag, jump a VERY SMALL FRACTION into the air and immediately do your down + B attack. If done right, you'll do something like 30% damage or more. Do that three of four times in a row, and Home Run Smash the bag at the last second (with a damage counter of upwards of 100%) and it should go flying. Man, I wish this game had online play.
