I am fairly new to this newsletter and I am assuming that the members here are first and foremost die-hard Nintendo gamers. However, it is my guess that, like me, you have at least one other console to tide you over during those long dry spells when Nintendo delays shipment and the software just isn't there. As a result, my N64 sets there empty for extended periods of time while I am purchasing and playing great games on my Playstation. Don't get me wrong, the purchase of the N64 was worth it for those few game that do come out and set the industry on its ear. But, I never expected, when I purchased the console, that it would be my secondary console, often sitting there waiting for the next game. Nintendo forces hard core Nintendo gamers to purchase merchandise from the competion due to the sporadic release of quality games. People who only own the Playstation have no real reason to go out and purchase a Nintendo 64 console. Isn't this the primary reason why Nintendo will always be #2 in this ongoing race? We would all love newest technology. I think it's not fair even to compare them. There are thousands of games out there. Some great games for snes, nes that I've never played. It all comes down to money. If you don't have any money, then I guess you are stuck with the snes, and play old great games. But if you do have the money, then you would go for the latest 64 bit system. An easier question is would you want to buy NBA '91 for $10, or buy NBA 99 for $60?
