I was just thinking about what I would like Command & Conquer 64 (if it ever comes out) to have and thought my ideas with you all. Some of this stuff probably isn't possibly because of limited cart space and other stuff... 1. Different camera angles. 2. 4 sides: GDI and NOD of course, but then two more that I think would be pretty neat, a civilian force that is fighting in the war because they don't think GDI has a chance of winning against NOD.. They don't fight against GDI, but don't fight with them either. An army of some civilians and some robots they made.. They just want to gain control of the world no matter what it takes. (They fight against all 3 sides making them the toughest team to play with in single-player mode) 3. 15-20 missions for each team. (If they can fit it in) 4. Big cart as possible. 128 megabits or maybe even higher 5. Some kind of multi-player options. How? Hmm... Maybe a modem in the cart if possible? Or maybe just split-screen or option to link a couple TV's.. 6. Controls: (if you don't know anything about C&C some of this probably won't make any sense to you) D-Pad- Used for scrolling through all the things you can build (buildings, vehicles and soldiers) Analog Stick- Move the cursor around the screen B- Deselect (what the right mouse button does in C&C and RA) A- Select, Move and Attack Left C- Select Team 1 Up C: Select Team 2 Right C: Select Team 3 Down C: Select Team 4 Z- Build whatever you picked with the D-Pad L- Change camera angle R- Zoom in (if possible) Start- Pause (brings up menu) Start and Z (at the same time)- Pauses w/o the menu Anyway, that's all the ideas.. Even with a big MB size, it still is going to need a lot of that space. Even if there isn't any FMVs or stuff like that, its still going to take up space. I used to have the demo and believe me, it is big. 12 MB might not be that big of a deal but for a 3 level demo with NO FMV or Music, it is. I know you suspended him and all, but if he does it again, can you suspend him? I hate when he writes letters that are 30 lines long which are all one sentance. And most of them have one line of N64 related topic, and the rest are about Robotech, his gae, South Park, and his, "girlfriends." Thanks, and keep up the good work. ~Matt [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Jul 1998 19:42:17 +0000 From: zimmfam@redrose.net Subject: Re: [N64] Command & Conquer 64 Ideas > To: n64@lists.xmission.com > Date: Tue, 28 Jul 1998 16:06:50 -0700 > Subject: Re: [N64] Command & Conquer 64 Ideas > From: win-thug@juno.com > Reply-to: n64@lists.xmission.com > In my opinion, it will be almost impossible to fit a strategy game into a > cartridge. I wonder how Starcraft will turn out? Also your comparing the space needed for a game from the PC to the console, but don't PC games usually take up more space because the PC isn't specifically made for games while the N64 is so they can fit more stuff in less space? I think I read that on IGN64 sometime.. But anyway, even if it is very hard for them to fit an RTS game on a cart, they have to find a way somehow since Nintendo got the rights to have Starcraft only appear on N64 and no other consoles.
