How about this? Mario and Luigi receive a distress call from Peach as she is being captured. When the Brothers get to here castle, they find Wario, who was knocked senseless by Bowser. Wario tells the two that Bowser has captured Peach. Swearing revenge on Bowser, Wario joins Mario and Luigi on their hunt for Peach. Jumping through a green teleport pipe, the trio emerges at a scene where Bowser has Peach in hand, as well as Toad. Working together, Mario, Luigi, and Wario kick Bowser around, and rescue Peach and Toad. Just as Mario is about to tie up Bowser, Kaymeck (the evil wizard from Yoshi's Island) teleports Bowser and the castle's Power Stars away to Bowser's Castle. Quickly, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Wario jump in a green pipe, where the five heroes meet Yoshi, who decides to join them on their quest. Thus the game begins, traveling to Bowser's Castle via teleport pipes that appear after each level. I think that this would be a good story line, and it's a tad different from the normal "go and rescue Peach" story. What would be cool is if the above were to all happen in an introductory cinema, and start the game on the path to Bowser's Castle to get the Power Stars, rather than have meeting Wario be part of the game, then fighting to Bowser, etc. Also, what would be REALLY cool would be if there were a 2 player co-op and you got to choose who you wanted to be, like Player 1 could be Mario, Player 2 could be Peach, or Player 1 could be Wario, and Player 2 could be Toad. Also, Yoshi could be a selectable character, not just a vehicle. This also sets out enough characters for a 4-player deathmatch (perhaps as a bonus for beating the game?) If they were to make a deathmatch, after the four players were chosen, the remaining characters (the characters no one chose to be) could be controlled by the computer, letting you have a full-screen 1-player deathmatch against the computer if you didn't have any buddies to play with, as well as having 2 computer-controlled opponents in the 4-player. If anyone else can build upon this, go ahead. ~Matt <> [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 98 00:43:50 +0100 From: Garrett Winters Subject: Re: [N64] Golden Eye 007 >Ghost of 004 wrote: >What do you about Boris in the Cuba mission, if you let him live he'll >shoot at you and sneak away. Maybe a Resident Evil 3, but I'm not sure if it's for the DreamCast or the PS2. Let's face it, if a property is successful, then a sequel is a must. Besides, Mario is more widely known than Mickey Mouse, which means until Nintendo goes out of business, there will always be Mario games. ~Matt <> [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 14:56:37 +0100 From: "Brian Baird" Subject: Re: [N64] Mario getting old???
