As far as the plays go, you have to understand the players routes (where they are going on pass plays). Take a look at the plays and pick a guy to throw to. There isn't much time to read defenses so look for your goto guy and throw it to him, unless he has fallen down or triple covered. You also have to get the timing down. Once you hike the ball, the receivers start running their routes and are going to look for the ball at the end of the route. If you throw the ball before or after the receiver is looking for the ball he will probably drop it or it will bounce off his helmet. What I usually use is a mental counting system (I'd look stupid if I said it out loud). On long pass plays after I hike the ball, I count 1, 2, 3, then the pass button. You need to practice the timing and find what works for you. Try running plays and waiting different amounts of time before passing and see what works. If this isn't your type of football game, then I think what you are looking for is NFL Blitz. - ---------- > From: Russ Lapenna > To: n64@xmission.com > Subject: [N64] Madden 64 > Date: Friday, November 20, 1998 4:04 AM > > > I bought Madden 64 a while back cause the price was right, but have been > trying to get rid of it ever since. The problem I found with the game is that I > can't figure out how to play it. I guess you have to really understand football > and plays before you can play it? I don't have it here with me but I think you have to push different buttons to pass depending on the play????? I don't know I feel like an idiot, this is the only game I've had trouble with. What you've said sounds helpful and I'll try it but just clarify for me how to actually pass the ball. Thanks Russ ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: [N64] Madden 64 Author: n64@lists.xmission.com at SMTPGATE Date: 11/20/98 12:14 PM It does help to understand football.
