So far the most awsome enemy I've encountered (in any game) has been Dark Link. I loved the that room, and that you had to defeat an enemy by thinking a little and not just wailing away on it (although I had the Goron's Sword at that time, so I made short work of him). The scariest enemy I've run into so far has got to Dead Hands. That thing, although not difficult to beat, is just down right spooky. I'm glad I didn't have the lights turned down when battling Dead Hands, because I currently don't have any Depends (though that may be a bit exaggerated). I was glad when I killed it.
