The graphics are ok... they look amazing in the hi-res mode but the hi-res mode puts you in letterbox mode. I hate that mode on my DVD movies and despise it in my video games. As for realistic, I think not. The controls are very sluggish. I had high hopes for this game but it turned out to be pretty average overall. Though it is the best racer on the N64 right now (but that's not saying much). The physics are very realistic, but also very different from GT. It's more similar to TGR, with a heavy bias towards powersliding. The AI of your opponent cars is really amazing. They all have personalities of their own. Some are very aggressive and will try to bump you off the road or spin you, especially if you bump them first. matt ma [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] [ To quit the n64 mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe n64" ] [ (without the quotes) to majordomo@xmission.com ] ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Jun 1999 20:55:30 -0500 (CDT) From: LittleKathy@webtv.net Subject: Re: [N64] World Driver Championship - --WebTV-Mail-417747990-18087 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit WOW. I haven't been able to put it down ever since. It's extremely addicting. The combination of the RPG elements and the challenging races makes advancing to the next cup really give you a great sense of accomplishment. IGN64's review is pretty spot on. NGO also gave it high marks, which is surprising to me, since their reviews are usually semi-worthless. I usually agree with EGM's reviews, but they are way off base this time, really underating this game. If you liked Top Gear Rally or Gran Turismo, then you'll probably like WDC. The graphics are awesome, if you haven't heard by now. All the tracks are quite beautiful, from the night lights of Las Vegas to the early morning fog and rising sun of Libson.
