I wish some of these bands would play over here, but even the ORB themselves refuse - I must admit it probably isn't financially viable really, but I can still hope!!! Actually though, Neurosis (Tribes of Neurot) did play here about 6 months ago and they were astounding, they were the first hard act to play here in ages and did it with style. So much so that I felt obliged to steal a handful of the Tribes of Neurot promo-CDs they had on offer. Great stuff. I got a lot of CDs that night if I remember, but it was the start of the night and that cardboard cover on them promo jobbies got soaked in my pocket after a night of head-banging and body-shaking. The other big attractions there though would have to be PigFace who are excellent - mainly for their varied and cultured collection of maniacs; plus FM Einheit - I have yet to hear the Ende Neu stuff with the shrunken E.N. band! Oh belfast....what a shite whole! BTW, if any of you know any big bands, tell them to stay away from a place in Belfast called "The Front Page". In the space of a month, they had Autechre, U-Ziq (sorry no greek characters on my e-mailer) and Luke Vibert (DJ Wagonchrist, PLUG, etc..) all play in what has to be the crappest bar I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. I attended the Autechre, who played two songs then left the building, probably due to the PA (in house amp and a couple of 20 year old speakers) which wasn't working properly. A friend of mine had to keep attacking the speaker hanging above us in our corner of the weeeee bar just to keep the sound from breaking up. What a disaster, I don't even want to think what happened to the U-Ziq and Luke Vibert gigs! Having said that though, (ADVERTISEMENT) the new sound system in the Students Union here is absurdly good! You can almost tell which drum machine is producing the beats from the frequency envelope, HONEST! sorry! Ronan FitzGerald - ---------------------------- u9350276@queens-belfast.ac.uk, Belfast, N.
