I really like System 7, so my advice will be *very* biased in their favor, but I'd say that System Express is one of their better releases. Their style is generally similar to that disc, though they do have some rather ambient (less in the way of beats) tracks on their other albums. One of my faves is their second full-length ("777" with a yellow-green cover, from 1993), which has one collaboration w. The Orb (LX and Kris Weston at that time). Their fourth LP ("Power of 7") is also very good and features a very Orb-ish "Davy Jones Locker" (collaboration w. LX). Some of their singles contain excellent (IMO) mixes unavailable elsewhere, so they're worth searching out.... Hope this helps. C-ya. Neil Hetrick nhetrick@idsonline.com onnow: Paul W. I think we can agree that by virtue of the fact that we subscribe to this list, our musical tastes are not "normal". And even within the list, tastes vary widely. If the someone was a typical pop/rock or alternative radio listener, I would start them with LFC - odds are they may have heard it, especially with the VW commercials today. If they were into the "new electronica" (read: Chemical Brothers/Prodigy), play them Toxygene. The only trouble with that approach is that someone who buys Orblivion for Toxygene is in for a shock when they hear the rest of the album. I once tried A Huge Ever Growing... on a friend with mixed results (he didn't hate it, but he didn't run out and buy Ultraworld either). Blue Room (one of the shorter edits), Towers of Dub, Valley, Delta MK II, whatever YOUR favorite is. Another approach might be to play them Killing Joke's Democracy, then play them the Russian Tundra Mix :-) Rich "The world will end in the year 2000. Only a few tracks on Terrarvm have clicked for me: Oxbow Lakes - at least it presents a musical idea w/in the first 5 minutes Montagne D'or - assuming I have patience to put with 4+ minutes of "build up" Occidental - walks that fine line between interesting and suicidal I've heard the argument before that albums like Terrarvm build up and explode... 3 years later, and I'm still waiting for this musical orgasm.
