Orb's live shows tend to be a little more "beat-oriented" and silly at times. The mix of Little Fluffy Clouds on the Live '93 album, for example, has a 2.5 minute sample of a healer "healing" someone with a morphine drip. Also, Live '93 isn't really continuously mixed. There are several instances where the applause is the fade from one song to the next. > 2) why...won't..this wig..come off? Bart and Homer glued it on. > 3)has anyone else grow skeptical of cynics? They did a show here in San Diego and distributed a sampler of stuff called UF Orb: The Listening Excursion. It's simply a promotional thing for their show. (You got a discount if you brought the cd to the show!) The cd itself is the second disc from UF Orb which I know many of you are after. First reasonable offer gets it--the tracks are: Blue Room (edit) 3:09 Blue Room (remix) 7:37 Assassin (Oasis of Rhythms mix) 15:14 Blue Room 40:00 (yay) Some of my buds are thanked on the back sleeve...should this item be in Lazlo's discography? It's a promo, but it's really only a San Diego thing. Well, whatever... Also, I found the Pulsating Sounds of the Orb at the same store, nice recording--does anyone need it? Thank you Johan. Second, a little while back someone posted of the feud between J. Cauty and LX surrounding the recording of 'Space'. This supposedly resulted in Cauty removing all of LX's samples from the album. I guess my point is after listening to the album I found it to be more 'orbient' than not. I am noting several orb-like samples and the almost verbatim intro of 'Happiest Girl' from Auntie Aubrey, the beginning of 'uranus' I think? I am aware of the similiarities (and relationship) between the two bands/artists, but still found the likeness uncanny. Can anyone verify or refute this story? Just wondering...please oblige... namaste Andrew M. I found a cd at the station today called 'Future: A Journey Through the Electronic Underground'. It has the Grids 'Crystal Clear - clear like an unmuddied lake mix'. I had to check the discog. to see if it was the Orb mix because there was NO mention of any Orb personnel in the liner notes. The cd is good (fsol, fluke, eno, massive attack, chem bros) but what a shi*ty mastering job they did...massive high end hissing throughout the cd. I brought it home only because I've had so much trouble finding the cd5 for this single. Anyways...disc info if u care... All of the mixes appear on other boots or CD's. The aubrey mix is only on the aubrey CD (AFAIK) which means the likelihood of finding it is like nil. I have the other two mixes on other CD's but go t it from a collector point of view. I really like hugeever... so to be able to get it in as many flavors as possible just adds to my orbsession.
