Can any list members confirm this? and are any >tapes about? greetings all my name is chicken and i have been lurking on here for about 2 years i just never felt that i had any new information and any questions i can think of have been answered i am ever grateful to this list because i know when to hit the shops looking for that certain remix, etc. anyway, yes the orb played twice at woodstock ( the main reason i went ) they finished saturday morning around 6am i was driving by the festival at this time and could see the reflections in the morning sky from the stage lights, but could not go in to the festival then cause of the police road blocks at all the nearest exits once in to the site, i confirmed with someone the orb did play that morning oh well missed it but at least i knew what i thought was the orb was the orb spent a good amount of time tring to find out more about orb set and the ravestock thing but it was very difficult to get any info from anyone most people had no idea what i was talking about i thought i might have a chance to meet dr lx in the tent with the light-goggles relaxation type thingie, but didn't see him after a crappy rainy muddy but interesting weekend with a few unconfirmed rumors of orb playing again sometime during the festival, it happened after peter gabriel on the big stage (the last scheduled performance) i was worn and tired and stumbled over to the second stage (long walk) i could here outlands in the distance, you can imagine the rush i felt the orb was playing again! excellent outdoor show (my favorite kind of orb) i think muddy mudskipper was played cause of the mud ( ya gotta love the orb's sense of humor) surrounding the stage was a field of tents being blasted with heavenly sounds people either being orbed for the first time or annoyed cause they were trying to sleep i never did see any listing that the orb was playing this second show, i'm just glad i was there all i know about tapes/cd's of this show is dipping into the cyberworld cd (playing now) and i later read somewhere that the orb were much more pleased with the sunday show i love this band chicken # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Aug 1998 21:53:12 -0500 From: "timmins" Subject: (orb) fw: Satan > You shouldn't relay your mail off of servers. > But, here is your response. You may wish to send an email to the SYS-ADMIN, as they recently implemented some new changes in the program code of the GEMM system. For a while I could not even find ORB, system kept saying to use 4 or more letters to search. They fixed it, but now it only brings up exact matches, so I have to check "Orb, the" in case anyone has posted their stuff as "the Orb". Slight Change of subject, Also I might add, as I check GEMM frequently (as well as a large number of other individual dealers). I have had very good results finding Orb items off GEMM from Tony Bale @ Hotspace. He specializes in queen related items, but he has come through for me on a few rarer Orb items (e.g. Perpetual Dawn UK BLRD 46, Orbus Terarrum Promo CDORB1, and Assassin Doble digipack UK BLRDA 81 [still searching for BLRDB 81]. From what I understand he has a couple extra copies of the Perpetual Dawn single, as well as a few others. He also accepts want-lists and will search out items. He almost got me the Blue Room Double Digi-pak (the main one that started me on my online quest for the 40 minute version), but the CD he received was damaged, however I payed nothing for it, and any used stuff that he gets he checks out the entire disk first. He is very reliable. For the most part I usually only request UK or other European releases, as from what he has told me, US releases are rather hard to come by over there (also the fact that any US releases over there are going to be more expensive than here in the US). Also, if anyone is looking for a copy of Morphology, Isolation Tank has it. I just received my copy on Monday and its great. Chech them out at http://www.isotank.com/show.sql/ambient/o/orb.html. Also again, I recently place an order with these guys, my stuff is still on order, but in any case with rarer items I am apprehensive. I will believe it when the item arrives. I ordered Anthology II, they also have a rather large list of other Orb goodies, but if anyone else has info about these guys let me know. But here it is to check out for yourselves...http://www.cdeurope.com/ ...I make no recommendation for these guys as of yet. As my stuff has not arrived or been indicated as shipped yet. But if they come through I will let y'all know. If I find any other good ones I will post them, I have been doing a lot of Record/CD/Tape dealer searches for the US/UK/ and Europe, but so far these are the best ones I've found. Anyone esle with info please post. I order Anthology 1 and 2 from CD Europe over a year ago. Every six weeks or so, I got a "sorry, out of stock, do you want to re-order" message. At least they never hit my credit card like some companies (Tunnel Records comes to mind). I re-ordered a couple of times but to no avail, so eventually gave up. No U.S. release date for Rushes -- which comes five years after the release of the first Fireman album, Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest -- has been set yet.
