So does the Blue Room itself. "It's a room in Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio where they keep all the aliens and the UFOs they've captured. It's like Hangar 18. It's a high-security installation that nobody is permitted to enter. They even refused to let President Eisenhower in." - -------- excerpt from Who's in Sphere? page 8 New Musical Express 27 June 1992 - -Well then, now's the time to find out what secrets the 'Blue Room' hides. At Wright Patterson(!!) Airforce Base in Ohio, America, certain presidents have been refused entry to a building that supposedly houses certain aliens, UFOs and artefacts that have been captured from the skies. Now that sounds like a good place for an Orb gig. "We've got this idea that it's rather tranquil," suggests Alex, "a Neptune-blue room with all these aliens just vegetating in there, it's just something that fascinates me. It was originally called the 'Blue Book Project', then they changed it to 'Operation Majestic', it's been there since World War Two, when they were losing all these aeroplanes and they couldn't work it out." i find it strange that area 51 and the blue room both exist is there really that much spacejunk collecting on earth? chicken now playing: u.f.orb of course # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Feb 2000 18:11:51 -0500 From: "Vince Frank" Subject: Re: (orb) blue room > "We've got this idea that it's rather tranquil," suggests Alex, "a > Neptune-blue room with all these aliens just vegetating in there, it's just > something that fascinates me. It was originally called the 'Blue Book > Project', ===>Does he mean "Project Blue Book"? That was the official US Air Force investigation into the phenomenon of UFOs. The official conclusion was (if I recall correctly) people *were* seeing thing, but they were not extraterrestrial in origin. then they changed it to 'Operation Majestic', it's been there > since World War Two, when they were losing all these aeroplanes and they > couldn't work it out." ===>Yeah, but what's really interesting (and this is why I do *not* believe in extraterrestrial explanations for UFOs) is that the whole UFO controversy did not begin until circa 1947--which, if I'm not mistake, was the year that the US Air Force became a separate entity from the US Army. Experimental aircraft--that's the simple and logical explanation. > i find it strange that area 51 and the blue room both exist > is there really that much spacejunk collecting on earth? ===>Well, either they do or they don't. I think that there probably ARE secret military installations scattered throughout the US, particularly in the desert southwest and other relatively unpopulated areas (hell, one can only imagine what they've got in Alaska and Wyoming!). However, the term "urban legend" comes to mind when it comes to most UFO stories. (by the way yes I know it's misspelled but I took the spelling from the Aphex Twin song of the same name.) When I went to Phish New Years this year, there was a didjeridoo (I think that's how it's really spelled) shop and there were like twenty people all playing one at once, It sounded awesome. They're supposed to be difficult to play correctly as they require circular breathing, that is the ability to essentially breth out your mouth while breathing in your nose. (that isn't exactly what's done but it's similar.) also, since most of them that I have found are Australian imports, they come in at a relatively hefty price of $75 dollars for a little one, not unreasonable for the average instument, but you do only get a very limited range of sound in one note from them. Well, that's my rambling for the day...what's a lyricon? dr. Digeridoo p.B.s By-the-way, what exactly *is* a "Digeridoo"? They were first made from branches that had been hollowed out by termites.
