And what about all the other mixes by Cauty, et. al.? I'm so tired of format exclusivity and vinyl snobbery I could puke... I mean, as long as they're making us buy two singles due to the assed-up UK chart rules, couldn't they at least include *all* the mixes on the two singles? Or does that violate some other stupid chart regulations (total time, etc.)? Aaaarrrrgggghhhh... JG PS - How many known mixes are we "missing out on" on the two CD singles? # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Feb 2001 15:27:44 -0500 (EST) From: Jeff Subject: (orb) Chart Rules I saw on the mailing list that someone mentioned there was a chart standard that CD singles are following... I've noticed that quite a few bands I listen to are releasing CDs in this obnoxious format, 2 CDs, 3 tracks or so each, possible same first track on both. Now someone says this is because of a standard? blech... What IS this standard? What is it for? Do you have to follow it to get played on the radio in the UK or something silly like that? If someone knows about or has a link to some info about this, I'd like to know... becasue whatever it is, I don't like it very much - ---- Jeff A Klein Bottle has zero volume, so we suggest that you do not use it as a personal flotation device. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Feb 2001 13:09:48 -0800 From: "Christjan Jordon" Subject: (orb) thru the orbvine This is from my friend in Canada! - -xjan. Beginning in March, the Web site www.badorb.com will post an audio sample of a new track, selected by Paterson, which will be available for purchase as a 12-inch for exactly one month before it is deleted from the site. The first song offered by Bad Orb will be by the Berlin electronic duo Sun Electric, followed by collaborations between Paterson and longtime mates Guy Pratt and former Killing Joke member Fil, who worked on "Mile Long Lump of Lard" as well as "Spanish Castles in Space" off the group's 1991 debut, The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld." # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Feb 2001 21:56:47 -0000 From: "Nick King" Subject: RE: (orb) ORBULLETIN: Once More release So, what happened to the Cauty mixes as advertised on the mailout? Also, the "FT Explores Satan" (aka LX) mix?? Incidentally, the mailout also features the Orbsauraus (very good!). One point worth mentioning: "AUNTIE AUBREY: The Orb Remix Project. Soon to be repressed. In Stereo" About bloody time too!! ;-) Also, managed to get hold of the "Once More" promo video... Here's a brief summary of the vid: A couple (who've just married) turn up to the hotel to check into the honeymoon suite. They go upstairs, order some bubbly from the bellboy (LX dressed up in a red uniform!). Whilst all this is happening, there are shots of the Akai (who happens to be in the same room as them!). The newly-wed wife then goes into the bathroom to run a bath. After a while, the husband (who sees water running underneath the door) decides to investigate, and finds out that his wife is a mermaid!! Obviously, they still love each other and embrace - vid ends! Well, very brief, but a fun vid nonetheless...!! l8rs, Nick ;-) > -----Original Message----- > At 10:36 12.2.2001 +0000, smiley wrote in an orbbulletin: > >'Once More' CD1 - cid 767;562969-2; blue cover > > > >1. once more (radio edit) (3.53) > >2. once more (bedrock edit 2) (8.03) > >3. lfc (danny tenaglia's detour mix) (8.03) > > > > > >'Once More' CD2 - cidx 767;562970-2; blue cover > > > >1. once more (radio edit) (3.53) > >2. once more (mark pritchard mix) (7.50) > >3. once more (mark's steamroller mix) (7.09) > > >'Once More' 12" vinyl - 12 is 767;562969-1; blue cover > > > >a1. once more (bedrock edit 2) (8.03) > >a2. once more (radio edit) (3.53) > >b1. lfc (danny tenaglia's detour mix) (8.03) # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Feb 2001 12:52:31 -0900 (AKST) From: "James A.
