Is it entirely Orb? Live? Track list? Yes. :P Check the list archives for 12/00-1/01 for more details, but the short story is streamed live DJ sets from Alex and the occasional guest. Depending on what genres Alex is into that week, there can be quite a bit of Orb-related material. The original streams feature audio and video (the video is mostly a waste of bandwidth, but thankfully most of the stream is audio. Some of them are archived at the source, groovetech.com Tracklistings would be a nice trick; there are lots of readily identifiable tracks, but there are even more that it would probably take the combined trainspottery of the entire list to figure out. I HIGHLY recommend going. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. They are doing a European tour this fall (London on my birthday- too bad I'll be stuck here). Great sound, great stage presence, cool light show- and of course, kick ass music. I finally have a scan of the fake LX flyer if anyone still wants it. It's kind of hard to read the fine print, but you can definitely see why we were fooled. Only 1 month until I FINALLY get to see the Orb again. AND Squarepusher & Plaid are playing only 6 days later. I almost feel like a live in a real city! New Aphex? I sure hope so-I clipped this from musikweekly APHEX SET TO UNLEASH HIS DRUKQS Aphex Twin has completed work on a new studio album and has titled it ‘DRUKQS’ – the pronunciation of which is unclear – NME.COM can reveal. The electronica pioneer, aka Richard James, mastered the 30 track double CD last week in London. An exact release date for the record has not yet been confirmed, although it is expected to be in October this year. Speaking about the album, a spokesperson for Aphex Twin said that the record will be accompanied by UK live dates. She said: "It’s a very diverse record, it was only finished in the last few days. It definitely has elements of his other albums, in parts it’s all over the place, while in others he uses classical piano." Aphex Twin hasn’t released a new studio album since 1996’s ‘Richard D James Album’, and had previously declared an intention to retire from the music industry without releasing a follow up, saying fans would have to "wait till I’m dead" to hear the next record. "It’s too distracting when you release your music – you can’t be honest. Sometimes you’ve got to duck out completely," he explained at the time. I think that's my longest post ever. It is a live mix. I thought it was the ORB because Dr. Alex Patterson was DJing. The CD is 1 track, at 60 minutes, 46 seconds. Here are the announcements present on the CD: 1. 00:01- 00:59: Tonight though, we welcome a true legend to the Breezeblock. I think it's fair to say that Dr. Alex Patterson is the first man I think of every single morning when I wake up, mainly due to the fact that I've got his rather attractive promotional Orblivion clock hanging up on my kitchen wall. But, he does have some serious history at the Breezeblock. His show's very first produced an igmorgon (sp?), named his first born child after Alex, so there you go. Tonight though, he's here to celebrate the release of the Orb's first new single in 3 years, "Once More", which is due out on the 12th of February, on the Island Records label, with the new album "Cydonia" to follow on the 26th of this month.... (...) So here he is- Dr. Alex Patterson, DJing live, and exclusively, for the Breezeblock, on Radio 1! 2. 60:22-60:46: I tell you what, that was an absolute work of art, wasn't it? Dr. Alex Patterson, DJing live and exclusively for the Breezeblock on Radio 1... (...) For the rest of you, you need to know that the single "Once More" is due out on Island Records on the 12th of February and the new album "Cydonia" will follow on the 26th. In the mean time........ From the announcements, I've concluded that it's safe to say that the broadcast was done around 2001/02 (Feb. 2001). Is it possible to get a tracklist that was played by Dr. Alex Patterson? If anyone on here can get ANY more information about this, PLEASE let me know! Is it possible to get "THE BLUE ROOM" 40- minute single? If ANYONE's willing to sell, let me know. As-salamu-'alykum-wa-rahmatullaahi-wa-barakatuh! We feel affinities not only with the past, but also with the futures that didn't materialise, and with the other variations of the present that we suspect run parallel to the one we have agreed to live in.
