I tried Marvy's and cheapie ones, and the effect is the same. Magic Marker is a brand name of *permanent* ink markers. The ink will soak through one paper to the one behind it. I guess one might be able to use 'em on cardstock, though I haven't tried that. ------------------------------ From: STmpaholic@aol.com Date: Mon, 3 Feb 1997 14:02:22 -0500 (EST) Subject: More airbrush info The pen type are handy, but in the long run can be quite costly. The pens do not last very long. There are many low end airbrushes on the market. Badger puts out a handy single action. It is the 350. Michaels carries a few models of badger, and Pasche. The 350 runs about 29.00, and comes with an airline, and bottle. You might need to get a compressor adaptor, as it comes with a propel adaptor (c02 in a can) This will enable you the spray anything you want. Inks, acrylics, anything. There are so many airbrushes on the market, I would be here all day listing them.An air compressor is pretty easy to obtain. Watch for sales, Michaels coupons, used out of the paper. Any kind of air compressor can be used. Some of you probably have one sitting in your garage! The greatest sorce of air is a Co2 tank. They can be purchased at any place that sells gases, (welding supplies, helium, etc) Look in your local yellow pages and look under gases. We exclusivly use CO2, as it is completely portable, and totally silent. If you are not real close to where you buy the gases, I recommend, a 20 lb. tank. This will last a long time. It is heavy . It is about the size of a divers tank. The 10 lb. is a handy size. It is not so heavy. We have 2 ,20 lb. tanks and 1 10 lb. tank.I actually found a used co2 tank complete with a valve at a swap meet for REAL cheap.. Keep an eye out in the paper under artist/craft items for sale.I have seen complete set up, airbrush w/compressor for real reasonable. My husband and I own a sign shop, and we airbrush for a living, so I would be more than glad to help, or answer any questions. We are giving a class on airbrushing on the Stampers Away cruise this weekend. Any of you who live in So cal, orange county, I f you want to take a class, e amil to me. We will be giving calsses at our shop. Sorry this is so long, I am a chatter box when I get giong. Happy Stampin to all!
