The cards from this swap are fantastic! The cards I received which have not already been described are from >Sarah Shivler--Sarah used beige cardstock and inked a red seam around the border. She then layered two decoratively edged squares, one solid red and the other red and white checked. On top is an apple tree, nicely colored with red, green, and brown markers. The layering really added a nice touch to this card. Sarah, would you let me know the source of the stamp? >Lanel Welch--Lanel used a very dark olive/brown cardstock. Layered on this is a white, deckled paper on to which an overflowing basketfull of apples and black-eyed susans have been stamped. Colored pencils were used. The saying on top is "Friends are the Sunshine of Life." The finishing touch is a hand-tied just bow. This would be such a nice card to give to a special friend. >Susan Bentley--Susan made a beautiful, multi-layered card. A large, ivory card was first layered with a green and beige gingham paper with scalloped edges. It covers most of the top and extends 2" over the back-this was a nice touch. Then she layered a black square. On top of this is a black and white checked bordered image of a red apple, green apple and blossoms. These were embossed. For a 3d effect, she again layered a black and white checked border. I wish y'all could see this one! Thanks to all for sharing! Here's how you can get your free stamp from AAS! We'll be doing our first stamp convention ever, this year in Cleveland! I'd love to have some killer display art , but I am so busy making enough stamps to satisfy the ravenous hordes, that I just don't have time to do it right! Here's where you come in ( and the free stamp BTW) If you''ll make us a card or other item for display purposes, we'll trade free stamps for your work! Here's the deal.... 2 unmounted dies or 1 mounted stamp for each contribution. If you have our catalog, you may specify which stamps you want. If you don't have a catalog ( cause you got stamps only via grab bags, for instance) you can request a theme and I'll pick for you. It will be a brand new image so that you won't have to worry about duplication. Here's the catch, and it is very important.. you can only use Appalachian Art Stamps or Imagick stamps in your work. The goal is to display our images, remember! I know I'll get much better art back that I have time to do; I've seen what ya'll are doing with our images and it's pretty wonderful! Please remember, AAS/Imagick images only! The card was a sponged blue back ground with three planets stamped and colored in and and a 3-D Marvin in his space ship. Then I glued on gold and silver confetti stars. These are the first swap cards I have received. They will hold a special place for me! The first card is from Giggles, I am so happy to get your card! It came wrapped in a beatiful hand made envelope made from gift wrap? I love the colors - purples, yellow and greens. Inside is a card made from green cardstock. Layered on top is a piece of green speckled wallpaper cut with seagul paper edgers. (One of the ones I need to get!) Layered on top of this is Think Spring with small tiny flowers and a bird in yellow EP on white card stock. Below this is a Basket and in the basket is a beautiful bouquet of flowers that have been colored in with markers. Very Pretty! The next card is from Jodie, our wonderful hostess, On purple card stock she has layered a type of tissue paper that seems to have been sponged with a silver ink. (What is this and how did you do it????) On this paper is embossed an image in gold of a gate and floral arbor. Very elegant looking. From P.Watson is a tan/ochre colored card with rounded edges. On top is a decorative paper of a lighter brown with white threads and silver flecks, this also has rounded edges. Layerered on top in white card stock using the stamp edgers (Another one I need to get!) is a gold embossed image of a covered bridge with trees. Beautiful card, reminds me of the old covered bridges in Connecticut. From Susan Sproc is a card done with white cardstock. It is splattered in Burgundy and a Medium Blue. Diagonally from corner to corner is a piece of blue mulberry paper. From the other corner to corner is burgundy mulberry paper. On top of the burgundy mulberry paper are two gold embossed butterfles on blue paper. In the top corner on the blue mulberry paper is a smaller gold embossed butterfly also on blue paper. Definately one of my favorites! This card is beautiful. Misty Sharman sent in a very elegant card. On light brown card stock the outer two edges have been rounded. She has layered on top green cardstock which have been embossed with clear images of flowers. To the bottom right is a square of the brown paper the four courners are done from one of the decorative corner edgers in the center is a beautiful flower colored in using white. HOW DID YOU DO THAT???? And in the top left corner is a raffia bow. I love this card. Thank you for letting me play!!! geevee so many stamps, so little time ------------------------------ From: Elaine Morgan Date: Wed, 05 Feb 1997 11:03:03 +0000 Subject: Re: RS TAN SLUGS Are you hinting that I said something nasty to Darlene since the post was directed at me?
