And how!!!! O Happy Day!! Arrived home from camp about 11 a.m., and found a parcel between the two doors - the mail-lady left it there yesterday, I guess! Talk about touchy-feely around here this afternoon, as I've had a great time just going through all the treats sent by my dear, sweet, kind, lovable, generous ... friend ... Linda Neumann!!!! Those pecawns - a *whole pound*!!!..... aaahhhh ..... the memory of her pecawn pie .... gasping ... remembering the nightmare of hauling the extra pie all the way to Pigeon Forge and **forgetting** we had it!! Aaaagghhh!!! Now, it will be fun to try this delectable dessert ... wish y'all were here to share ......And she did the recipe card up so nice, too -- Cardstock & vellum ... always in short supply around here -- some of this look like Evo-type c'stock, right? Love it... just love it, and am inspired at the lovely colours!! I'm going to clear the decks in an hour or so, and play with the Miter Maker by Appalachian Arts. This is one of those real scary times when Linda and I seem to be having the same thoughts (again) .. a week or so ago, I was doing some scene-type cards, and I was frustrated, trying to get a stamped "frame" around the scene I had stamped ..... it couldn't be done! Ha! I bet it can now!! Wallpaper is cool ...... great backgrounds here, and just looking at the color combinations brings some ideas to mind!! Great stuff for kicking off ideas, eh? *Two* bottles of embossing powder - Black Magic and Fiesta ... These are just *gorgeous*!! The fiesta is going to be just *perfect* for Easter projects. Linda also sent a blue fish ... yes ... a blue fish!!! This one was "stuffed" ... with Static Magic (by Appalachian Arts - I had *read* about it here ... and it works!!!), with a wood mounted "ant" stamp, and a wood-mounted stamp with a (blush) certain caption about chocolate, a um that is the impression of *my* teeth, and a tea-bag packet stamp um (Aunt Amy's - ?) ... , and a um that has leaves, hearts that *match* the tea-bag packet stamp um ... There was a little packet of "Judy" stickers ...... funny thing, about those stickers ... at my ripe ole age, they still bring a grin to my face. There were **eleven** um's .. all angels !!! They're just adorable ... I can almost feel an "angelic collage" coming up ... as I want to stamp every one of these *now*! One of these angels must surely be an impression of Linda's dear son-in-law ... who also thought of me and sent along the cutest, most practical little glow-in-the-dark night light. Linda ... tell DW that if the Canadian gals got a hint of his thoughtfulness, they'd want to *clone* him!! The little bottle of essential oil that he sent arrived safely ... and what can I say??!!! Thank you, Linda ... I got lonesome for y'all all over again!!! If it wasn't for the distraction of all these new toys, I'd be in bad shape wishing you were here or I was there.... xoxoxoxoxoxox Ant Judy H. It had some terrific boxes with animal body-types to put together - never have seen these. Also an assortment of 8 different boxes to fold up and stamp. I love boxes. If somebody gives me a basket of stuff, I take the stuff out, smooth out the tissue paper and save it carefully and go crazy over the basket. Same thing with boxes - I know, its dumb. There was a great Sara Michaels package with raspberry bath oil pearls, some strawberry foaming bath grains, heart shaped cards, some great foil type heart shape outlines - big ones! Some stick'n lift shelf paper - it's foil looking - where did you get this? I've never seen it before and I'd love to find out more about it. It's like glitzy contact paper. There was a little strawberry sachet that smells so good. A ton of wallpaper for backgrounds and for envelopes and from the Paper Palette some Sweet Garden Kaori Scented Paper. Last, but not least, a lovely card. On a pink card stock card she has layered a shiny red square and then a stamped square picturing 2 cups of coffee (m-m-m-m-m-m-)with cup handles entwined and hearts on the tablecloth. Nice stamp. I'm a coffee addict. It's the ONLY thing I drink. I never said I was healthy. But one of the things that was so nice about this package is the fact that it was all color coordinated in pinks and reds for Valentines Day month. All was very thoughtful. Thank you so much.. Truth is, I left the Rubbertown list because I felt there was nothing there except ads. Lately I've been thinking that this list is begining to resemble Rubbertown. Personally, I don't mind seeing an ad or two from each vendor, even every day, but sometimes there are anywhere from 4 to 8or 9 following one behind the other, and again the same stuff several times a week. But I think you are talking here about vendors posting several DIFFERENT ads every day. I'd prefer that the vendors post everything in one ad. Perhaps a list (index?) at the top indicating what's following. If this were done daily I would have no problem with it at all. Right now, I just delete like mad and don't even look at most of them because it drives me crazy, but that's not a long trip for me lately. When I was advertising my calendars, I posted one ad on the weekend and one during the week to try to catch everyone. Perhaps that wasn't enough, but I felt that it was. At least for me. I truly enjoy the comradery on this list and the TANs, the jokes, the teasing, the tormenting one another (just like a real family), not to mention the wonderful tips and teachniques we all can learn here, and everything else that goes along with it. The vendors' ads are part of it, and my personal opinion is that they are getting a bit excessive. But hey, that's me. If I don't like it, I'm free to unsub anytime I want to. It's an unmoderated list, after all. Anyway, I'm going to be posting an invitation soon for everyone to come visit my World Internet Mall. So maybe I ought to just keep my mouth shut. --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- Computers are life. Rubberstamping is art. There is stitching lines around the outside of the card (and the envelope) and around the pink layer on the front that has 3 hearts stamped on it. The card has two small fans stamped in the corners. Thank you Linda. I really like your card. What does Agape'Stamper mean? The second card I received was an annonymous one. The card is chartreuse green andhas a great stamper on the front. The front of the card is cut shorter than the back with deckle scissors. The stamper was stamped on white and then layered on the front. At the bottom is a row of rubber stamps, and it says "Can be bribed with rubber stamps." It's a really cute card. Thank you both so much for taking the time to RAK me. BTW, my husband was standing behind me when I opened Linda's card. He has never heard anything about the "Rake, rack" questions. Stamped and embossed in red it says "thanks so very much." I like it! <--- very best Chevy Chase voice. You are VERY welcome, Deb. I'm glad you liked the teddy. And thank you for the card and picture! Cheers!!! Christine This message was from "Christine L. I did say in my last post that I enjoyed good conversations and discussions. I guess I sort of contradicted myself. I just feel like I have offened so many people. My point now is this....I apologize for opening my mouth and saying anything negative before giving the group and the list and the information and the TANgents and everything a chance. I have had some great encouraging messages from many people in regards to questions and to my last post regarding the content of the list. A few people have seemed downright offended by my statements and I'm sorry if I caused problems. I never actually said I didn't like the group and the list etc, I just said it wasn't what I was expecting. I guess I would have to agree that posts only on RS'ing would get a little boring. I have enjoyed some of the discussions that have gone on and have contributed to them as well....hey, look, this has nothing to do with stamping ideas or techniques. Before I step on any more toes or piss anyone else off, I will promise here and now to keep my nose out of things until I have a better feel for the list. Again, my apologies for jumping in without looking first. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I sometimes speak without thinking first. I honestly thought that it might be a good discussion, that there would be others like me out there, but I guess I proved to myself that there were only a few that felt as I did. I need to step back and enjoy the list a little more instead of say things against it. I still plan on being a subscriber, but I won't put my foot in it again.;) cheers.......nancy This message was from nancy@winterland.mainland.ab.ca (Nancy Elrick) - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Nikki stamped and embossed in red Hero Arts "love" word background on an ivory card. She embossed a large heart on separate paper, trimmed around it, and mounted this on foam tape along with a curled gold ribbon. Really stylish. Anon.--a navy blue currogated bookmark with a "Home is where the heart is" heart embossed in gold on white, then layered along with a white ribbon onto the cardstock. Very elegant. Carole Mork embossed a Precisous Moments bride and groom couple, then colored them in (great coloring job!). She embossed "wishing you many happy moments of discovering new things in life together. Congratulations!" in silver on separate cardstock, trimmed it with fancy scissors and mounted it over some white mulberry (?) paper. In the top left corner she embossed a pair of wedding rings in silver. Stephanie stamped a bear clown with hearts with large Victoriana-esque valentines on either side. This is on yellow cardstock. She cut around it, then mounted this on foam tape on top of dark green notecard. Inside, she glued matching yellow cardstock, which she edged with scissors and then used a heart corner punch in each corner. Terrific idea and combination of images. Moovis (aka Megan, aka our hostess) stamped/embossed a large red heart, then cut around and layered this over white paper with different sized red hearts. She layered this at an angle (opposite the large heart) and then onto a white notecard. This is a clever way to layer things--makes the card look very sophisticated and bursting with enthusiasm. Thanks to Megan for hosting and for the Aussie survival pack of goodies! :) Cynthia This message was from Cynthia Sillitoe - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. It's something that my mother (who's also on the RS list) do together. We love to talk about posts and compare notes. 2. I learn a new technique about once a week. 3. I now know what to take to a convention. 4. I hear about Michael's sales (since they're never advertised in my local paper). 5. I learn about products that I'd never heard of before. 6. I'm ready to try making my own paper. 7. Until I ordered from Evo, I didn't know that many colors of paper existed. 8. I never had any idea that Skin So Soft had that many uses. 9. I now know what Crystal Laquer is AND I know how to use it. 10. I've learned what RAK *really* means. 11. Victoria and Jaimee and Michelle and Barbara and Jo and Laura and Dorothy (and Toto2) and Laura and Lori and Lorri and Robin and Gloria and Chris and Chris and Phil and Linda and Giggles and Petie and Ellen and Jutta and Kelly (a daughter I never would have had!) and Kym and Debra and Shawn and Tricia and Christi (I swear I'll write back, Christi, really!) and and . . . . 12. I know when every convention is and who the vendors are long before most people. 13. All the websites with wonderful pictures and pricing and techniques! 14. When I have a question about ANYTHING here's a group of 100 people to ask. Someone is bound to know the answer. 15. That apple pie recipe that was going around at Christmas time. 16. When I'm stumped for a gift, I read what you guys are doing. 17. If someone I know is ever in need of a cheerer upper, I know several hundred people who would send them a card. 18. I am constantly reminded that others have lives and viewpoints different than my own. 19. I never would have heard of rub-ons 20. It gives me something to do when I need to "veg." 21. I needed information about Asheville, NC (I live in CA) for a work project and a listee who didn't know me from a hole in the ground is getting me information and pictures. She even found out who the architect on the job is for me! 22. . . . . . . . . Cheers!!! Christine This message was from "Christine L.
